Role Summary:

The Ad Sales Finance Analyst for the Digital News Group will provide support in ad sales finance processes for NBC News Group’s digital media properties (NBCNews, Today, MSNBC, CNBC) and will be exposed to revenue-related finance/pricing for this growing and dynamic business.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide ongoing support to Director, Ad Sales Finance in fundamental reporting and analysis

o Ownership of Sales reporting and metrics analysis (Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly)

o Support revenue forecasting process (Budget, Long Range Plan, Estimates)

o Assist in quarterly financial close

o Research drivers of key variances and trends

o Improve depth of existing reporting to provide better analytical tools for both Finance and Sales teams

o Execute ad hoc historical advertising spending reporting requests

• Gain in-depth knowledge of all Sales & Finance systems used for reporting (SAP, Operative, Salesforce, Business Intelligence, etc.)

• Work with Sales team to ensure that sales data is financially accurate

• Develop expertise in digital ad market trends, growth, and competition

• Work cross-functionally on ad hoc, Sales related project work


Qualifications & Characteristics:

• BA/BS 4-year degree in business, accounting or finance

• 6+ months of finance experience (including internships)

• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines with accuracy

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Demonstrates analytical strength and process mindset … ability to identify and resolve key issues quickly

• Demonstrates leadership skills, especially ability to influence and lead change in cross-functional teams

• High energy and ability to multi-task
