**Responsibilities**

Job Duties



+ Supervise the news assignment desk and the coverage of news on given shifts

+ Supervise the assignment of stories, editorial staff/field crews and related administrative duties.

+ Coordinate feeds from fiber, LiveU, microwave sources, satellites, etc.

+ Compile visual materials for air

+ Work with crews in producing live remotes and news turnarounds

**Qualifications/Requirements**

Basic Qualifications



+ Minimum 3 years of experience working in a network, cable news channel, or large market local newsroom

+ Minimum 2 years of experience working on an assignment desk

+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

+ Must be willing to work in Washington D.C.

+ Must be 18 years or greater

+ Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

+ Must be available to evenings, weekends and holidays as required

+ Excellent news judgment

+ Strong writing and research skills

+ Knowledge of the daily production needs of news programs, special reports and interrupt

+ Exposure to Washington pool arrangements, rotations and policies

+ Familiar with transmission pools and remote production needs

+ Strong shooting, editing and digital production skills

+ Familiar with all social media platforms

+ Knowledge of departments of government, related institutions and current events/newsmakers

+ Excellent interpersonal/communication skills

+ Proven ability to prioritize and make critical decisions under tight deadlines

+ Must be able to coordinate interviews, satellite and other feeds

+ Team player who can also work independently and is a self-starter
