Role Purpose

NBCUniversal is looking for an attorney to join its Executive and Talent Contracts group.


+ Negotiate and draft personal services contracts on behalf of the company for NBC News Division on-and off-air talent, as well as executives across all of the NBCUniversal business units

+ Analyze and interpret personal services contract provisions and represent company in disputes involving employment contract provisions

+ Participate in ongoing analysis and improvement of negotiation and drafting practices and processes

+ Conduct legal research on relevant federal and state statutes and case law

+ Support and utilize proprietary contracts database to track contractual obligations and generate reports for business and HR leaders

+ Educate and counsel managers and HR professionals in negotiation strategies and practices


Basic Qualifications

+ Law degree

+ Minimum of 2 years – maximum of 5 years of top tier law firm and/or in-house legal experienceEligibility Requirements

+ Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

+ Must be 18 years or older

+ Experience with negotiation and drafting of agreements, particularly employment contracts

+ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

+ Excellent interpersonal skills which enable him/her to maintain positive interactions with a range of personalities and to establish effective relationships at all levels of the organization, as well as with agents and attorneys representing NBCUniversal employees

+ Strong negotiation and precise drafting skills

+ Self-motivated, able and willing to prioritize work and to effectively address urgent requests from high level corporate and production executives

+ Experience in the entertainment industry business/legal affairs
