• Working closely with the Head of Marketing to support the development of the channel and to execute clear overall channel brand strategies and plans that meet ratings/revenue objectives and support the growth of audiences to SYFY on SVOD (NOW TV).

• Develop, manage and execute digital marketing plans across social media, paid digital media and other digital channels. This includes working closely with multiple stakeholders on developing digital strategies for SYFY (Pay TV channel and SVOD) and the new SYFY editorial website.

• Build a strong partnership with the PR team to ensure all activities are aligned and integrated, editorial opportunities are maximized and culturally relevant conversations combined with our world-class content are at the heart of our social strategies.

• Work closely with PR on developing influencer strategies and executing with a strong focus on results and ROI.

• Managing the creative development process for on-air, off-air and digital to deliver excellent creative work on time and within budget.

• Work closely with On-Air Media Planning to maximize and integrate on and off-air activity.

• Working alongside the Commercial team, build sustainable commercial strategies that optimize the impact of digital activity on digital revenue and execute sponsorships alongside the Ad Sales function.

• Execute trade marketing plans in line with strategy devised by Head of Marketing and with the objective of developing relationships with affiliate platforms in each territory and maximising promotion of content via their owned, earned & paid media channels.

• Build healthy relationships with the NYC team and ensure global brand/content opportunities are maximised across all markets.

• Support the Head of Marketing in working closely with the research function including leveraging digital analytics to ensure clear, accurate and useful information is communicated to inform strategy and maximise the effectiveness of programming, marketing and media planning.

• Working closely with a range of departments across the business including On-Air Strategy, Ad Sales, Affiliate Teams, Programming, Research, PR, Production, Creative & Social Content Producers.

• Support the setting of channel, web and marketing (digital/social medial and traditional) KPIs and reporting on progress/performance on an on-going basis.

• Manage the work of external agencies and feedback on agency performance to Head of Marketing with regards SLA.

• Owner of overall content marketing plan approved by the Head of Marketing.

• Editorial awareness and knowledge and consideration of compliance.

• Consultation with legal for management of third party agreements and contracts as required.

• Execute partnerships and contra deals in line with Partnership Marketing Strategy devised by Head of Marketing for these channels.

• Execute sponsorships working closely with Sponsorship team.

• Review, evaluate and measure these channels on and off air activity. Recommend improvements to innovate and optimize effectiveness of activity and company processes.

• Day to day management of the SYFY marketing budget (allocating, prioritising budgets, raising POs, tracking expenditure etc)


• Educated to degree level or equivalent.

• Passion for Sci-Fi genre a must!

• Strong sector experience in the Broadcast and Digital Publishing industries, with proven success in driving audiences to premium content through a combination of brand and digital skill sets.

• Proven ability to contribute to B2C marketing strategy, planning, insight identification and ability to brilliantly execute plans across the full mix: ATL, BTL, PR, Digital, Internal. B2C multi-media campaign development incl. the formulation of briefs.

• Proven ability managing marketing initiatives across digital marketing platforms (incl. social & mobile), including strong understanding of audience needs and behaviours across various social platforms and understanding of
