Role Purpose

The Food Category Editor is responsible for the research, acquisition, development and positioning of digital content in front of the Craftsy customer. The Category Editor serves to be an expert in cooking and baking and prioritizes building strong relationships with experts and staying on top of emerging trends. They work to ensure paid and free content merchandised by Craftsy is differentiated and on brand.


• Research, scope, acquire, and design content across the cooking and baking categories which reflects core Craftsy brand attributes, especially expertise, tone and detail of instruction

• Distinguish between audience subsets in the cooking and baking categories, understanding what’s core for each and designing content to support those varied constituencies

• Develop contributing editor networks in your categories, and leverage those networks to fuel innovation which supports Craftsy’s strategic goals, identifying the right talent considering the goals of each unique product

• Collaborate with subject matter experts to create long-form video content products and supporting recipes and other print materials

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to pitch new content formats, frames and structures to support business objectives and new business models

• Serve as a Cooking & Baking category resource throughout the organization

• Collaborate with eCommerce to ensure synergy between digital and physical offerings

• Collaborate with business development to ensure that category-specific partnerships are smoothly executed


Basic Qualifications

• College degree

• Experience designing, teaching and/or writing informational, how-to or educational content

• Demonstrated Food editorial expertise in an elite environment

• Flexibility, ability to work across multiple organizational functions with distinct goals

• Ability to independently manage multiple tasks and deadlines

• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationships with various subject matter experts
