Job Description

WCVB-TV Boston seeks candidates to fill a full-time opening in Chronicle Department as a Field Producer. Primary responsibilities include producing video segments, hard news as well as features for nightly magazine program Chronicle. Position occasionally requires travel, both inside and outside of New England.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Research and develop story ideas appropriate for Chronicle magazine program
  • Schedule interviews and locations shooting for stories. Conduct Interviews
  • Secure permission for locations and oversee on location shooting
  • Log tapes & locate other video, film, photographs or music that might enhance the story.
  • Write scripts, generating material for programs, provide material for website, Facebook, Twitter, and other digital channels.

Required Skills

  • Excellent writing, spelling, grammar and copy-editing skills
  • Ability to multi-task and coordinate several crews and responsibilities simultaneously.
  • An ability to summarize information into easy-to-understand components
  • Creative presentation style, and ability to showcase all resources and elements
  • Unwavering journalistic integrity and ethical standards
  • Must be available to work holidays, shifts that include nights, weekends and overnights, and flexible with schedule to be available during breaking news


  • College degree preferred

Required Experience

  • 3-5 years of television, film, and/or Videotape field production experience
  • Familiarity with video editing.
