**About Us** NBCUniversal is launching a new Telemundo-owned station in Hartford, Connecticut. The station will be co-located with NBC Connecticut / WVIT and both stations will serve local Spanish- and English-speaking viewers in the Hartford market. In addition, the new station will debut Telemundo Boston’s newly rebranded weekday newscast “Noticiero Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra” in December. Noticiero Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra will be produced by Telemundo Boston and include reports from Hartford and Boston-based reporters, and will deliver 10 hours of live, local breaking news and information each week to Spanish-speaking viewers in Hartford and Boston.

**Responsibilities**



+ Participates and coordinates all parts of the creation of a TV spot from inception to broadcast.

+ Includes pre-production and planning meeting with account sales executives and clients; script writing, professional voice over and selection of music bed.

+ Operating of all portable video (field cameras) and audio equipment.

+ Transports and sets up all required lighting and audio equipment including lavaliers, wireless receivers, handheld and shotgun microphones.

+ Provides limited troubleshooting and maintenance of field production equipment the production.

+ In post-production selects footage, tape logging, rough cuts, audio adjustment, edits, add graphics, voice over, music bed and include sound effects to create the final product utilizing Adobe Premiere Pro editing software, along with other Abode CC software (After Effects, Photoshop, Audition, etc).

+ Compresses video projects for output; makes video copies for clients and broadcast.

+ Responsible for the quality of each commercial produced.

+ Quality control can involve several duties, such as verifying accurate information and placing legal disclaimers into advertisement spots if required.

+ Producer must also verify that commercials meet certain legal and broadcasting standards.

+ Reviews productions to ensure objectives are attained according to client requirements and insures production is ready for air prior to start date.

+ Conceptualize, write, edit, produce and/or shoot image campaigns to entrench and to extend station brand.Identify key series pieces and lead stories for daily news programs and produce compelling advertising that recruits viewership.

+ Researches and writes scripts for spots, vignettes and other promotions. Selects video and coordinates the graphic design production for spots. Provides creative concepts and ideas for spots. Prepares storyboards for news and special spots.

+ Maintains look of video, vignettes, graphic presentations and scripts

+ Work with news producers, reporters and news managers to obtain information and video for production of topical promos to push viewer to Telemundo Connecticut newscasts.

+ Perform all other tasks necessary to carry out the foregoing functions and any other functions consistent with, or reasonably inferable from, the foregoing.

+ Participate at station promotional events as necessary.

**Qualifications/Requirements**

Basic Qualifications:



+ Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Eligibility Requirements:

+ Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) both written and verbal.

+ Familiarity and ability to work with audio and video equipment required.

+ Ability to write creative scripts that communicates clients’ message(s) effectively.

+ Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations to

+ Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a creative services department writing news topicals, producing and editing video for topical promotions and participating in station community events.

+ Bachelor’s Degree

+ 2 years of related work experience including non-linear editing skills

+ Final Cut Pro

+ Writing Experience

+ Proficient in Word

+ Proficient in AfterEffects

+ Strong interpersonal skills

+ Team player

+ Has the ability to perform under tight deadlines in a “quick turnaround” environment.
