Position Title: Communications Intern

Reports to:  Communications Manager

When: Spring 2018 semester (To begin in January 2018)

Responsibilities:

Press

  • Update and maintain the TVB press archive
  • Print, post, and promote articles and press releases
  • Attend meetings with PR firms

Social Media

  • Create monthly social media calendars with industry conferences, webinars, and new research release dates
  • Post tweets about TVB events, TVB research, and industry news
  • Manage twitter accounts for TVB executives; manage weekly twitter analytics for each account
  • Maintain strong social media presence and followers

TVB.org

  • Read industry press daily and post relevant articles to TVB website

Other duties

  • Manage the general inquiry inbox on TVB’s website
  • Assist in setting up meetings; provide on-site support
  • Conduct research for various initiatives and campaigns; manage data entry for each project
  • Compile data for weekly newsletter and conduct quarterly analysis report
  • Assist in editing e-blasts, blog posts, and copy for the TVB website

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program, preferably with a focus in communications, marketing, or advertising; also open to recent graduates
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and take direction
  • Self-starter who takes ownership of projects
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Ability to remain on task in a deadline driven environment

Required Skills:

Proficiency in:

  • Windows, Microsoft Office Suite—mainly Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Social Media: Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn

Additional Software Knowledge and Skills a Plus

  • Content management systems (CMS)
