Community Manager

This position is accountable for raising the bar on the way we represent ourselves in the community, and on point to develop plans and best practices, and executes them with passion and excitement.  We have a 94% weekly reach of the market, so we have a great responsibility for the safety and wellness of the community. 

Core pieces of the position include:

Strategic and thought leadership with regard to CMG Ohio’s community outreach and involvement.  
Design and implementation of PR strategy to promote our products and services in the community.
Good at setting up systems and processes for community relations and PR activities.
Strong writing skills and relationship skills required. 
Management of the Cox Cares Ohio brand and platform as a mechanism to execute community outreach.

Deep understanding of local brands at CMGO.
Understands the Dayton metro area and its key players.
Able to set up processes to achieve goals and objectives.

Aptitude for seeing potential opportunities and partnerships 
Drive results for audience and revenue for all brands
Develop and execute strategic plans to propel image in marketing place
Collaborates with events manager and Creative Service Director
Manages marketing budget as well as budget for strategic initiatives
Accountable for on-time and on-budget execution of plan
Management, operational and supervisory duties as assigned. The position requires strong organizational intelligence and the capacity to accept new challenges.


BA degree required (marketing, communications, public relations or advertising). Advanced degree is preferred.
7+ years of marketing and communications, event marketing, and/or public relations experience.
Results-oriented writing skills are essential.
Strategic leadership aptitude. 
Track record of building high-performing teams. 
Strong project management skills needed.
Highly creative, yet detail oriented.
Positive attitude, agility in response, and willingness to pinch hit and pitch in to assist whenever needed to get the job done.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
Strong customer service focus required.
