The core responsibility of the Contract Manager is to both prepare television (content) license agreements and any other related legal documents and manage and coach a team of Contract Specialists that perform the same tasks. This position provides support to the VP Business & Legal Administration on driving improvements and act as a backup.


Key responsibilities:

- Assemble and administer television (content) license agreements for Free TV, Basic Cable and Pay TV customers worldwide, using in-house contract assembly system (SAFE);

- Prepare short form license agreements. deal memos, amendments and any other related legal documents (company approved templates) as deemed needed;

- Manager to a team of Amsterdam and London based Contract Specialists whose core task is to assemble license agreements. Contribute to an excellent team environment across country, inspire, coach and provide vision, guidelines and prioritization;

- Right hand to the VP of Business & Legal Administration and a true spokesperson for the team’s goals and team spirit. Assist in projects, system upgrades and (system)training;

- Contribute to continuous improvements and efficiencies in process and procedures. Be an ambassador for the LEAN (Sense) program that drives continues improvement;

- For new media or output/volume agreements, upon receipt of final execution version from handling attorney, review/scan through and fix formatting/numbering (if and when necessary) before liaising with the London office based Contract Specialists to handle the printing, saving and distribution of the license agreements;

- Communicate/liaise with the Contract Specialists based in the London office to handle the television license agreements administrative tasks/processes as they are responsible for handling final administrative steps;

- Handles queries from external clients on matters pertaining to the television license agreements and/or new media/volume agreements;

- Maintain up-to-date files (Files Management including archiving); manage extensive volume of paper/electronic files/documents; answer phones;

- Liaise and interface with Legal, Finance and Sales staff locally and internationally;

- Manage (routine) administrative support for the Department in general;

- Manage archiving of expired + fully paid license agreements. Archive lists must be created to track which files have been put away;

- Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications (essential & desired)

- Minimum 5 years related experience in an international office environment, preferably in contract administration;

- Bachelor (HBO) or Master’s degree or equivalent. Law degree not required;

- Experience with managing a (cross country) team: Ability to lead, motivate and inspire high performance and be a proactive coach and mentor. Create an inclusive and inspired team environment;

- Able to work independently; effective time management skills; able to perform multiple tasks concurrently (flexibility); prioritize effectively for own work and assign or prioritize for the team;

- Proven ability to improve processes and drive efficiencies;

- Highly accurate and strong attention to details for an extended duration at a time;

- Strong Microsoft office (Word) skills and experience and affinity in using diverse systems. i.e. contract assembly system;

- Past experience in working with multiple clients across departments and countries (internal/external) and departments;

- Excellent and accurate oral and written English communication skills;

- Strong work ethic; professionalism, commitment to quality; initiative & strong self-motivation;

- Able to provide clear and concise communications to the team and a variety of diverse business units;

- Experience with department procedures and high integrity (e.g., maintaining confidential documents).
