Cox Media Group Ohio’s Programming Operations & Research Coordinator is responsible for handling daily operational television programming duties (e.g. building schedules and working with Master Control to secure shows), FCC reporting and maintenance of public files, and preparation of basic research reports.  The candidate will be proficient in software used to support television programming and research or will have a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software tools.

Job Responsibilities
  • Creates quarterly program schedules for WHIO & MeTV           
  • Maintains/updates MeTV Master Schedule for all Cox affiliates               
  • Handles streaming black-out schedules        
  • Updates record & air schedules and weekend procedures       
  • Responds to viewer calls & emails  
  • Updates television barter reports   
  • Assists with securing contracts and streaming riders 
  • Tracks ratings & revenue trends for syndicated programming renewals
  • Assists with cable retransmission process by researching carriage and setting appointments
  • Prepares FCC quarterly reports for TV & radio stations
  • Maintains TV & Radio public files, including uploading information
  • Documents adherence to closed captioning requirements
  • Assists with FCC license renewals
  • Assists with preparing various ratings research reports
  • Updates Holiday trends for retitling and assists with retitling ratings following breaking news/technicals
  • Updates inventory/data in Wide Orbit for sales purposes

Qualifications

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience with media-specific software is a plus (e.g. Wide Orbit, Scarborough (PrimeLingo), Nielsen NLTV, Nielsen Audio (Tapscan), Leigh Stowell, Kantar, etc.)
  • Competence with Microsoft Office, expert-level proficiency with Power Point & Excel is essential

Mandatory Skills and Background:

  • Professional interest in media (print, TV, radio & social/digital)
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject from reputable university
  • 2+ Years of professional experience in a broadcast or research environment
  • Strong computer skills (including expertise in Microsoft Office products).Experience using research software a plus
  • Team player who is able to manage his/her own workload
  • Flexible, enthusiastic attitude, willing to pitch in when required to get the job done
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment and make innovative contributions
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills in English
