Responsible for supporting the design and implementation of show quality modifications of current attractions including but not limited to drawing packages depicting color callouts, facility information, in-field adjustments to original design for all show and scenic components. As part of Attraction Show Quality (ASQ), assist the show producer in maintaining original creative intent, including area development, by creativity integrating show, facility, equipment and elements into overall creative environment and participating in assessments of show quality conditions.


• As directed by the Show Producer or Creative Director organize and manage the development and assembly of overall show, high quality show set design package. The show set package articulates the Project’s creative design intent and details the various show elements of an attraction, such as scenery, special effects, show action equipment, animated figures, props, animated propos, audio equipment, lighting equipment and more.

• During design, participate in design, cost, schedule, and technical review. Responsible for developing creative design, color boards, sketching, drafting, and models and other creative output that outline solutions to integrate elements into a themed environment.

• During construction, oversees contractors and develops in-field solutions and follow-up documentation. Acts as design “vision-keeper” for the project, maintaining a cohesive design in all elements associated with the project through all phases of development.

• Produce effective as-built documentation that enables sustainability of original intent including art and finish specifications, materials and specification and design drawings.

• Utilize various drafting techniques and tools (e.g. AutoCAD, ADOBE graphics software, Illustrator and 3D software, etc.) to draw, draft and create dimensional, scale drawings and models detailing construction methods and the integration of various show elements with each other and the facility.

• Develops and presents appropriate project presentations to both internal and external audiences to communicate project concept, content and status.

• Design to program and budget while coordinating and integrating with other disciplines including but not limited to engineering, operations, architect, vendors, etc.

• Establishes, builds and maintains positive and productive team relationships based on open communication, trust and teamwork with project partners, departments, disciplines and personnel. Communicates, inspires and maintains project intent among all team members.

• Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.

• Perform other duties as assigned.


• Associate’s degree in: Theatre, Art, Film or Architecture is required.

• Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university in: Theatre, Art, Film or Architecture is preferred.

• Designing experience based entertainment for theme parks or related industries; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
