The NBCUniversal Global Real Estate (NBCU GRE) team provides comprehensive real estate services (Transaction, Pre-Development and Design and Delivery) for a wide range of Business Units across the global NBCU portfolio of leased and owned properties. **Responsibilities**

Responsibilities



+ Partner with the GRE VP of Master Planning and Design, internal Business Units and Corporate stakeholders to help define long range master plans for the company’s key business hubs that become the development template for adding new or transforming and optimizing the company’s real estate assets

+ Planning responsibilities include site and facilities assessment, site programming and planning, definition of development and landscape strategies and options, selection, development and documentation of a preferred option, and phasing approaches

+ Based on defined master plans or real estate strategies, lead design and documentation of enhancement, redevelopment or new buildings and area development to support the needs of the company’s Business Units

+ Work with Design and Delivery senior leadership to select and hire multi-disciplinary project teams, support and/or lead design efforts through all phases of the project including programming, concept design, schematic design, design development, construction documentation and construction administration and post occupancy tenant support

+ Contribute to the evolution of NBCU’s workplace as it relates to projects for which GRE is responsible. With a focus on maximizing end user satisfaction and flexibility, minimizing real estate cost and maximizing efficiency and agility, the Director will define appropriate workplace solutions that implement NBCU workplace standards

+ Define options for meeting those needs, develop and document specific plans, supervise implementation and measure results of each effort

+ Interact with GRE, internal and external stakeholders and must build relationships and communication strategies to manage the wide range of competing priorities inherent in a large and complex media and entertainment company

+ Exhibit strong written and graphic communication skills. Planning and design is a form of storytelling that weaves together the rigorous analysis, problem solving and artistic inspiration that we aspire to bring to our work sites / workplace

**Qualifications/Requirements**

Basic Qualifications



+ BA and/or Masters Degree in Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Interior Design or related field

+ 10+ years of Planning and Design experience with demonstrated success

+ Experience participating in master planning efforts that that have been implemented and that incorporate inputs from parallel entitlements, government approvals and community outreach efforts

+ Experience designing and delivering a wide range of building projects consistent with the needs of a modern and evolving media and entertainment company

+ Experience delivering state-of-the-art workplaces for a diverse group of workers in an evolving media or high tech company

+ Familiarity and relationships with the planning and design industries, including external consultants, workplace product representatives, furniture dealerships, and fabricators

+ Proven experience completing design efforts with an innovative and fresh but practical and cost effective approach to delivery

+ Experience working within a very lean internal organization that relies heavily on external providers to deliver high quality and timely work product

+ Excellent graphics capabilities; initiatives must be presented in a manner that addresses the needs of those who are in the know about planning and design as effectively as it does for those who know little about GRE’s business
