**Responsibilities**

Position Overview

The Director of Programming and Development is responsible for assisting in creating and executing an overall content strategy to grow the Syndication audience and develop programming that support brand and business objectives.



Responsibilities

• Participate in all development efforts for TVD group helping create a robust slate of projects that meet brand, ratings and business objectives.

• Serve as a brand advocate for TVD, working seamlessly with leadership team to formulate and communicate a programming vision that ties directly to the overall network strategy, with clear content objectives and success measures.

• Work collaboratively with peers in Business Affairs, Finance, Marketing, Digital, Production Ops and Program Planning to shape and realize the overall strategic direction and plans for content.

• Leverage relationships with producers to identify new ideas, projects and potential co-productions. Harness relationships in the creative community to attract top tier talent including show creators, writers, showrunners, talent, etc.

**Qualifications/Requirements**

• 5-7 years of experience leading television production and/or development.

• Proven ability to identify unique ideas and translate them into winning/successful programming.

• Degree in Communications, TV/ Film or related field preferred

• Extensive knowledge of TV production and post production techniques

• Proven relationships with show-runners and production companies and agencies

• Ability to work well under deadlines; manage pressure situations

• Excellent writing and communication skills

• Must be a self-starter, extremely organized, with the ability to set priorities and manage a large workload with multiple tasks.

• Proven team player in a collaborative environment.

• Some night and weekend work/travel may be required

• Participate in development meetings and help manage implementation of notes and feedback as project moves from idea to final series concept

• Liaison between internal departments to communicate and manage information flow for all applicable projects with counterparts in Digital, Marketing, PR, Program Sales and Creative Services
