Job Purpose:

Reporting to the SVP, Digital & Print Creative, the Promotions Director is responsible for developing and executing multi-platform, consumer facing Promotions and Partnerships for shows and the network.

Essential Responsibilities :

+ Responsible for development and execution of the Promotions and Partnership strategy and execution, and plan year-round for shows and the network operating within the annual department budget

+ Promotions are not limited to but include oversihgt of network presence at tent-pole conventions/events (e.g. Comic-con, Vid-con), custom show Promotions outside of conventions (e.g. screenings, stunts), grass-roots promotions for targeted audiences (AA, LGBT, Hispanic, etc.)

+ Partnerships initiated and/or managed include major brands and sales partners, in-show partners, charities, complementary entertainment and digital properties, other NBC Universal Comcast brands and organizations, etc.

+ Responsible for promotions-related special projects as they arise (e.g. NBC’s photo booth in the Universal Theme Parks, merchandise for special events, internal events)

+ Collaborate with internal teams to ensure Promotions are multi-platform and/or include amplification layers (Digital, Social Media, Advertising, Publicity, etc.)

+ Develop presentations for senior management for approvals explaining the idea, strategic approach, projected results and potential ROI

+ Responsible for the development of creative elements that deliver impactful use of brand IP, selection and creation of merchandise and collateral

+ Collaboration with Publicity and Talent Relations on press strategy and talent participation

+ Draft Promotions portion of marketing plan documents and adapt in a variety of formats for different audiences

+ Post program: performs analysis (e.g. traditional ROI, key learnings and results

+ Monitor competitive landscape marketing, promotional trends and consumer behaviors, and apply to development of ideas. Seek out attention getting promotional practices, new technologies and innovative brands to ensure cutting edge, best in class promotions

+ Manage and support Promotions Manager and internal freelance support


Basic Qualifications:

+ Minimum 5-7 years Promotions experience, preferably at a broadcast and/or cable brand, other entertainment company and/or agency

+ Extensive knowledge of Promotions and entertainment marketing including the multiple layers - experiential, digital, social, publicity, etc.

+ Proven record of developing and executing successful, fully integrated Promotions with significant market and consumer impact while staying on-time and on-budget. Proven track-record producing major experiential build-outs, fabrications and interactive experiences

+ Strong understanding of Promotional and experiential strategies and tactics to ensure feasibility of core ideas and to troubleshoot during execution

+ Creative instinct and knowledge to give direction and help develop all creative aspects of the promotion with internal creative teams and/or external agencies including build outs, signage, merchandise, collateral.

+ Significant rolodex of authentic relationships and/or contacts with a wide range of partners including: brands (big to boutique), charities, entertainment brands, event/convention partners, promotions agencies, production vendors, brands, charities, media partners, etc.Eligibility Requirements:

+ Savvy in digital marketing and technologies and social media

+ Experience in Promotions and tent-pole events for targeted audiences/passion groups (e.g. multi-cultural, faith-based, LGBT, etc)

+ Proactive planning and solid project management skills across multiple projects and priorities, whom can effectively manage the million moving parts that make up a great consumer experience, while working in a fast-paced environment where new projects consistently arise

+ Acute attention to detail, extremely organized and focused on delivering excellence

+ Clear, concise, objective and professional written and verbal communicator

+ Able to develop proposals and present to internal and external stake-holders

+ Familiarity with consumer research and behaviors, ratings and other forms of relevant entertainment evaluations

+ High degree of computer proficiency on MAC and PC and with creative, presentation and project management programs

+ Knowledge and ability to proficiently communicate regarding promotionally related content files (print, digital and video) and creative (mechanicals, renderings, proofs)

+ Creative, out-of-the-box thinker who can generate and inspire the development of unique and innovative promotional ideas and solutions

+ Self-starter, with proactive nature who is resourceful to seek answers and solutions

+ In a creative, collaborative environment, a team-working leader with an ability to manage cross-functional relationships and staff, inspiring teams and achieving goals across multiple projects via influence rather than direct authority

+ Ability to prioritize and set clear objectives for team
