Role Purpose

In this role, the Director, Social Engagement will lead the strategic development and execution of fan engagement specifically for our social platforms. As the point-person for social strategy, this person will collaborate with internal teams and external agencies, working to successfully meet or exceed business objectives. Additional efforts tied to web analytics and digital metrics/measurements in order to adequately gauge performance, optimize initiatives, and establish best practices will also be key requirements of the position.

NBC Sports Regional Networks, part of the NBC Sports Group, consist of 9 regional networks that deliver more than 2,400 live sporting events annually, along with award-winning breaking news, comprehensive analysis, digital content and original programming to more than 43 million homes. The NBC Sports Regional Networks are: NBC Sports Bay Area, NBC Sports California, NBC Sports Chicago, NBC Sports Washington, NBC Sports Boston, NBC Sports Northwest, NBC Sports Philadelphia, NBC Sports Philadelphia+ and SportsNet New York.

Job Duties

+ Immediately create and lead the social Quick Response Force, a team dedicated to the creation of original content on a nightly basis

+ Works to establish organizational/departmental processes and protocols as it pertains to QRF execution.

+ Responsible for the selection of top talent and on-the-job training and coaching for this interdepartmental nightly team.

+ Responsible for scheduling the Q.R.F. team on a nightly basis.

+ Sets and achieves objectives/deadlines as necessary for content production.

+ Builds upon and helps communicate on-going strategic direction of all social efforts.

+ Keeps informed of industry activities as well as new digital strategies, resources, opportunities.

+ Works with social media platforms and internal ad sales department to make sure sales goals are accomplished.

+ Works with key stakeholders to adequately measure and optimize campaign performance.

+ Establishes social benchmarks and best practices for various content groups


Basic Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in Marketing , Business, Journalism, or equivalent work experience

+ 6 years of work experience as a digital marketing strategist, Social/Multi-Platform marketing manager or Social Content manager leading social media team/ accountsAdditional Qualifications

+ Knowledge of current San Francisco professional sports

+ Ability to maintain a flexible scheduleAdditional Job Requirements
