**Responsibilities**

Role Purpose

The Director, Video Project Management will be a key driver in NBC Sports Group video project initiatives. This person will have deep experience in project/program management with strong experience in video delivery technology. They will lead a team of video project managers and third party vendors building and maintaining state-of-the-art sports video applications and frameworks for the NBC Sports Group. The role requires in depth project management skills, along with proven success in delivering end to end video based projects in both broadcast and digital ecosystems.



Responsibilities



+ Management of internal projects and Project Management resources along with multiple external vendors/partners for building video based applications for NBC Sports Group digital properties

+ Assign projects and development tasks to developers and ensure that technical deliverables remain on schedule and on budget

+ Ensure appropriate project documentation is created/disseminated.

+ Act as point of escalation for project issue/risk mitigation

+ Develop highly scalable and efficient video applications and frameworks that meet the goals of the NBC Sports Group

+ Partner management across a diverse eco-system to manage evolving lifecycle of multi-platform videoCoordinate QA/UAT and software releases with Video Engineers, Project Managers and Release/QA Engineer

+ Provide feasibility reviews on potential new projects, including development effort estimates

+ Create and review software architecture and hardware infrastructure proposals for all new application builds

+ Ensure that all products launched by the Sports Group meet the organization’s best practices for scalability, stability, and security

**Qualifications/Requirements**

Basic Qualifications



+ Minimum of five (5) years of work experience in developing and deploying end to end large scale video applications as well as leading and managing a development team

+ Minimum of four (4) years managing technology budgets or P&L

+ Minimum of two (2) years’ experience managing and mentoring other project managers and technologists with varying backgrounds and levels of technical expertise

+ Expertise in implementation of video in RTMP,HDS, HLS, MPEG-DASH and associated delivery and encryption technologies (AES-128, DRM and fingerprinting)

+ Expertise in agile methodologies and the full software lifecycle: application development (application structure, device and operating system APIs, debugging, performance, security) and deployment

+ Background in broadcast video workflow, including signal acquisition and encoding specifications, and the OVP landscape

+ Knowledge of live and VOD video topology, with CDN cache deliver experience related to eachEligibility Requirements
