**Responsibilities**

NBC News is looking for two editors to Edit both short news stories and long-form magazine pieces for television and the web. Working with Richard Engel and the unit’s senior producer in some of the most remote and difficult places in the world, you will be expected to perform multiple field duties including field editing and feed remote locations.

**Qualifications/Requirements**

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Editing both short news stories and long-form magazine pieces for television and the web

• Generating story ideas, contributing to story planning and preparation, designing and producing original elements (original video, audio, graphics and archival material).

• Working with a team of producers, researchers and others to generate a consistent stream of high-quality reporting for NBC News’ diverse platforms.



SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Comprehensive knowledge of television news editorial standards and electronic non-linear edit system techniques

• Extensive knowledge of Avid Media Composer 8.0 or higher

• Substantial experience in broadcast and/or cable network editing

• Candidates must have Avid editing experience in a fast paced news environment and be able to work under pressure to meet tight on-air deadlines

• Strong writing and story-planning skills

• Effective time management and organizational skills

• Able to ingest various file formats, edit and feed from remote locations.



REQUIREMENTS

• Eligibility to work in the UK.

• Full English language capabilities.

• Must be able to work flexible work schedules including late nights, weekends and holidays.

• Must be able to travel for remote and hazardous assignments often with little notice.

• Must be able to work independently and make independent editorial decisions

• Must be willing to work in London
