**Responsibilities**

The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Inspector role is critical to the success of the Universal City Studios Injury and Illness Prevention Program. The inspector role will conduct workplace inspections of stages, office buildings, facades and technical support areas on the Universal City Studios lot. The inspector will use their experience and audit tools to inspect facilities, document the findings in the NBCU EHS information management system and follow up on corrective actions. This role will also inspect other activities on site including construction projects. This position will assist with accident investigations, health and safety program audits, respond to EHS concerns and Safety Hotline calls and other miscellaneous EHS projects as required.



Inspection Responsibilities:

• Conduct EHS inspections of stages, back lot façades, and office/building utilizing the site’s EHS information management system and follow up on corrective actions.

• Perform field inspections of contractors as required.

• Perform quality assurance inspection of eyewashes, ladders, fall protection and other safety equipment.



Compliance Responsibilities:

• Assist the department with implementation of EHS programs.

• Participate in the Safety Team and other meetings as required.

• Assist with accident investigations as necessary.

• Attend EHS training as required.

• Assist with updating health and safety programs including Safety Risk Assessments.

• Perform periodic chemical inventory of Lower Lot buildings and maintain data and inventory.

• Monitor and respond to health and safety concerns and Safety Hotline calls.

• Assist in other EHS required activities as directed.

**Qualifications/Requirements**

Background

• Completed Bachelor’s degree in EHS or five years EH&S experience

• 3+ years EHS experience

• Proven experience with documentation of EHS compliance findings, to include corrective and preventative actions

• Experience with Microsoft suite of tools

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Prior experience with Safety Data Sheets

Physical Requirements:

• Must be comfortable working at heights and be able to climb stairs to upper perms in soundstages

• Ability to lift/carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.

• Ability to stand/walk a minimum of four (4) hours per day.

**Desired Characteristics**

• Proven experience with documentation of EHS compliance findings, to include corrective and preventative actions.

• Must be a self-starter, highly motivated and able to work effectively in a team.

• Experience with Microsoft suite of tools

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Must be comfortable discussing non conformances with building occupants with the intent of correction.

• Understanding of Safety Data Sheets
