Job Summary

NBC Entertainment Digital is seeking an Experience Design Manager responsible for driving innovative and groundbreaking user experiences across our core, platforms, products and services. As the Experience Design Manager, you will guide the Experience Design Team and collaborate with fellow members of the Design, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Production and Business Teams to conceptualize, design and develop requirements into usable, useful and delightful products. The Experience Design Manager will report directly to the Sr. Director of User Experience Design to inspire members of your team and colleagues to develop award-winning products, interfaces and experiences.



Essential Responsibilities

As the Experience Design Manager, you will:



+ Work closely with the Sr. Directors of Design, Product and Marketing stakeholders to deliver industry-leading Design Experiences across NBC products, platforms, services and channels.

+ Lead/Manage designs for sponsored integrations, product marketing and product experiences.

+ Demonstrate proven experience with successful multi-platform designs and project delivery.

+ Manage complex campaigns and project plans with multiple work streams & dependencies.

+ Demonstrate and manage the highest design standards - providing clear Visual and Brand Design direction to team members, stakeholders, and outside agencies/vendors.

+ Identify/pursue new targets and opportunities that will advance organizational business goals.

+ Present concepts, strategies and goals effectively to Mid/Senior Executives.

+ Identify gaps and anticipate risks; take action to address design risks & determine solutions.

+ Track progress and manage vendor/team allocation to escalate design issues and risks.

+ Lead team through multi-platform design challenges/obstacles via positive creative solutions.

+ Inspire/mentor others on design teams and other creative teams within the organization.

+ Provide hands-on Design support; create mood boards, brand style guides and templates to establish initial design directions/concepts to delegate to designers, teams, and agencies.

+ Translate customer, business, product and marketing requirements into best-in class products that provide greater awareness, positive feedback, and increased consumption.

+ Lead & Define data measurement and testing criteria for A/B testing of products/campaigns.

+ Develop and maintain all Design/UI template libraries and visual brand guidance for products, platforms, applications, campaigns and services where visual design elements are required.

**Qualifications/Requirements**

Basic Qualifications:



+ 7+ years of experience as Sr. UX|UI Designer, Sr. Visual Designer or Design Leader within a large-scale consumer facing organization, agency or multi-platform initiative.

+ 5+ years experience designing/developing multi-platform campaigns and visual solutions for mobile applications and connected product experiences.

+ BA Degree or higher in Interactive Design, Visual Design, Product Design or Visual Communications (OR) combined work experience with human factors training.

+ Experience with designing for 10ft Screens, Mobile Applications, Connected Devices and responsive/adaptive screens with multiple UI Elements.

+ Deep knowledge and experience in Mobile, Living Room & Connected Product Environments

+ Expertise in Sketch, InVision Tools, Adobe Suite and rapid prototyping are required.

+ Working experience with cloud based design and communication tools is required.

+ Knowledge of new emerging trends for digital products and cross-platform UI integrations.

+ Experience managing high performance teams of 5 or more designers across internal and external teams – both direct and dotted line reports.

+ Hands on experience with variety of user research techniques including user testing, personas, user tasks and scenarios, internal and external user interviews.

+ Education in Visual Design, Product Design, Interaction Design, Visual Communications, and/or Product Design is required.ONLINE PORTFOLIO IS REQUIRED FOR ALL SUBMISSIONSAn Online portfolio demonstrating broad skills, versatile aesthetic, high-end experiences, and expertise in design principles and usability. + Excellent written skills, and able to present to small or large groups of people including Design, Marketing, Production, Product Teams and Executive Stakeholders.

+ Uncanny drive and passion to deliver the best experience for consumers and proven track record to deliver compelling, innovative and award-winning user experiences.

+ High confidence working on complex multi-platform consumer focused products.

+ Consumer Electronics, Entertainment & Lifestyle Product experience are a BIG PLUSSES.

+ A strong portfolio showcasing broad range samples of Visual Design, UI & IXD is a MUST.
