**Responsibilities**

We are looking for a Front-End Developer to help build and coordinate our many innovative web sites and applications. The News group at NBCUniversal prides itself on the ability to stay cutting edge in the technology space, and we are looking for someone who can keep the tech organization as a leader in the latest delivery trends.



Candidates must have a high level of experience in user interface / user experience and product development. This will include business analysis, requirements gathering and documentation from all business stakeholders and internal/external clients, prototyping, and coordination of project development using agile methodology between Designers, Product Managers and Software Engineering teams to deliver product to spec and on time. An amazing level of attention to detail is a must. Someone who knows best practices, can document them, and insure all UI/UX design follows those detailed specifications.



• Possess a sharp focus on clean design and modular component-based code

• Contribute to large web apps/sites, creating maintainable stylesheets (SASS) and javascript

• Follow best practices (styleguide driven development, browser testing, refactoring, consistent code standards)

• Know how to ask the right questions and are comfortable articulating your thoughts and decisions

• Be actively engaged in dev communities (open source, tech meetups, etc)

**Qualifications/Requirements**

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other related fields

• In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, extensive coding skills, web development experience and familiarity with the field's concepts, practices and procedures is required.

• 3+ years of UX/front-end engineering

• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript and the strengths and weaknesses of the latest frameworks

• Able to take feedback constructively and iterate on designs and ideas from multiple stakeholders with differing opinions

• Understanding and experience in user-centered design process

• Creative thinker who can effectively innovate big ideas and also work out all the details

• A passion for championing UX and innovation.

• Experience developing in an agile development process.

• Excellent interaction design skills

• Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders; i.e. other developers, business leaders, and users.
