**Role Summary:**

The Head of VR will work alongside the chairman of the studio’s team to develop and execute a creative vision for Universal Pictures’ VR/AR consumer content that aligns with the studio’s creative vision. The ideal candidate will have deep experience as both a creative producer and a technologist with significant understanding of the VR landscape. The Head of VR will be tasked with setting up and executing the strategy of how to maximize the studio’s IP to help push the company in the next phase of storytelling and content development.

**Essential Responsibilities:**

+ Collaborate with Distribution, Strategy and Technology teams to develop, execute and monetize a clear distribution strategy for VR content, including platforms, windowing, and exclusivity decisions.

+ Serve as creative producer for VR / AR projects across the studio, aligning consumer content plans among Gaming, Marketing, Production, and other groups.

+ Manage the VR / AR consumer content development process externally through strategic partnerships and internally by building, documenting, and disseminating institutional knowledge.

+ Build a vision for how VR / AR will improve production processes, create immersive consumer experiences, and continue to push the studio to innovate in other ways years into the future.


Basic Qualifications:

+ 2+ years working within the VR / AR marketplace.

+ 7+ years of film, series, or game development experience at executive level.

+ Strong passion for innovative storytelling and emerging technologies.

+ Deep understanding of VR / AR technology across the value chain (HMDs, cameras, software, engines, etc.) and view of where those technologies are likely to go in the future.

+ Experience programming, writing, or producing VR narrative, location-based, interactive, or gaming content—either live-action, motion capture, animation, or CG (experience with multiple types of VR experience preferred.)

+ Extensive relationships within the film production and VR / AR community in order to source partnership opportunities.Eligibility Requirements:
