Job Description:The NBCU lead will be playing a crucial role in managing the day-to day QA operations (Test Management life cycle) and smooth functioning of various RTS releases and new initiatives. The lead will work hand in hand with NBCU Project team (BA, Platform owners, Business Engagement leads and Product owner), Vendor folks and various IT teams.

Typical job responsibilities for this position include:

+ Act as key point of contact for all QA aspects of releases, providing QA services and coordinating QA resources internally and externally.

+ Define test plans and ensure successful implementation

+ Implement Enterprise Quality Assurance processes & best practices to bring in QA effectiveness

+ Coordinate test planning efforts. Design and implement best practices and standards, QA frameworks, manual and automated testing

+ Lead team of other test engineers who design, develop and execute manual and automated functional test cases.

+ Assign tasks to team members and review their key deliverables.

+ Monitor testing progress and test execution schedule

+ Create and maintain test requirements, cases, and scripts for each testing cycle

+ Supervise & is responsible for the planning and preparation of the test deliverables created by team members

+ Review test deliverables with the project team

+ Work with other teams/ departments to resolve issues during entire test lifecycle

+ Escalate issues to QA leadership that impede the test effort

+ Supervise data and environment coordination

+ Must be able to translate user and functional requirements into test scenario, including non-functional testing such as negative testing, performance and security

+ Experience with automated test framework.

+ Establish and execute quality assurance testing practices across embedded, mobile, and web applications

+ Lead defect meetings and ensure accurate and timely status updates to project team. Lead the QA team interaction with internal and external users to triage, reproduce and describe issues encountered with product during all lifecycle stages.

+ Work with Product Owners and Development Leads to triage bugs and manage the bug backlog. Negotiate with team members to determine which bugs will be addressed/fixed as part of a sprint iteration.

+ Must have excellent verbal and written skills to be able to articulate defects to a high level of details and document them into the software tracking system

+ Ability to understand complex functional/technical specifications

+ Verify entry criteria and exit criteria is complete

+ Assist testing team members where possible

+ On call support during the non-working hours if required (including weeknights, weekends, and holidays)

+ Coordinates resources in several locations and with several different types of QA tasks.

+ Leverage agile testing framework, design, and build functional test cases and scenarios pertaining to various components

+ Evaluate test cases, test plans, and test processes for completeness, effectiveness and efficiency.

+ Facilitate test improvement processes

+ Apply superior analytical, problem identification and resolution skills

+ Excellent Interpersonal & Communication Skills.

+ Ability to test/lead multiple projects at a time

+ Ability to select and collect the correct metrics, identify the trends, make forecasts

+ Energetic and self-driven individual able to work in a team atmosphere

+ Highly driven hands –on QA lead, positive attitude, team player, self-learning, self-motivating and flexibility are some of the attributes needed for this position.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

+ Deep expertise in testing web applications (.Net preferred) as well as client/server applications

+ Ability to develop and manage all aspects of the testing effort, including plans, schedule, tools, and team members

+ Learn and understand the functionality of the application or enhancement to be deployed (including screen, report, batch, and interface design)

+ Explain the testing methodology, processes, tools, templates, environment, and concepts to the team members

+ Ability to document and communicate the status of testing progress against plans, taking corrective action and escalating as necessary

+ Understanding of software development life cycle methodologies (particularly Agile) is a must. Hands-on experience with V-Model, Waterfall and Agile/Scrum process environments

+ Experience with test management and execution tools (particularly HP, JIRA)

+ Expertise with automation for functional and system testing

+ Should have experience with Mobile TestingEducation, Skills, and Experience

+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

+ BA/BS in analytical and/or process-focused discipline (Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, etc.)

+ Minimum 8 years of experience in System testing complex software applications including test automation, test planning, test case design, and test methodologies

+ Minimum 3+ years of experience in leading large testing teams, including offshore resources, in a dynamic, fast time to market and customer focused environment.

+ Must have strong Agile Experience.
