**Responsibilities**

Fandango is currently seeking a very technical, hands-on and talented Lead or Principal Data Scientist to lead advanced analytics and data science efforts in our enterprise analytics team.



Responsibilities:

• Develop innovative data science solutions that utilize statistical modeling, machine learning, forecasting, and optimization for multiple business domains across Fandango including finance, sales, product, and marketing

• Utilize a variety of rich data sources such as transactional, web data, social data, emails, and streaming data. Identify and evaluate new data sources that improve model performance

• Mentor the team in various predictive modeling and machine learning approaches. Be hands-on as needed to achieve project delivery

• Identify data science opportunities that deliver business value. Educate both internal and external business partners to drive implementation and measurement

• Provide technical leadership on latest big data technologies and adoption of new analytical tools

• Partner with BI data engineers to develop scalable and automated analytics and data science solutions

• Manage projects priorities and ensure timely delivery. Build and document model development, review, and deployment processes

**Qualifications/Requirements**

• 6+ years of work experience in Data Science, Predictive, and Advanced Analytics

• Graduate degree in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, Econometrics, Operations Research, etc.)

• Strong machine learning and statistical modeling expertise, such as regression, time series models, random forests, clustering, neural networks

• Advanced knowledge of SQL and experience extracting and analyzing large datasets

• Proficiency in one or multiple statistical/machine learning languages (R, Python, SAS, Matlab, Stata, etc.)

• Experience with BI reporting tools (Tableau, MicroStrategy, BusinessObjects etc.)

• Self-starter and self-motivated with the proven ability to multi-task and deliver results in a fast-paced, high-energy environment

• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex analysis and algorithms to untechnical audience

• Works effectively both independently and as a member of a cross functional team

• Must be available and willing to work extended hours as occasionally needed including weekends and holidays to meet business needs

**Desired Characteristics**

• Experience with Hadoop, AWS, and Spark

• Experience with deep learning and AI tools

• Experience working with web analytics tools such as Adobe and Google Analytics

• Working experience in digital media, e-commerce, and entertainment industry is very helpful but not required
