SUMMARY: Supports management in directing and coordinating activities of department and employees by performing the following duties. Sets the Service example and ensures that the team members are also following required UO service standards. Monitors team member’s production and assigns lunches and breaks. Responsible for making complex alterations on wardrobe pieces for all venues, creating original pieces for projects, and manufacturing basic accessories.







ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:





+ Perform general alterations and repairs on existing wardrobe used in all venues, through the use of hand sewing or sewing machine (e.g., snap repair, hem repair, string, buttons and fabric tears). Installs RFID chips in wardrobe pieces.



+ Provides work direction to team members. Assigns lunches and break times. Monitors compliance of current Company and department policies and procedures. Communicates performance, behavior standards, and expectations; provides feedback for recognition and performance improvement. Captures written behaviors using the Lead Observation Report to support managerial and supervisory documentation.



+ Fit and alter newly fabricated and purchased wardrobe and complex alterations to existing wardrobe (e.g., conversion to maternity clothing) Assist Guests with Wardrobe needs.



+ Cut wardrobe pieces from patterns, with knowledge of grain, knap and fabric saving techniques.



+ Provides assistance to the Wardrobe Fabricators with their assignments as needed. Assists in cleanliness and organization of the work areas. Utilizes Garment Inventory System to perform accurate logging of daily work product.



+ Assists with training new and current employees. Assigns who will provide daily training. Informs employees of current and new company policies and procedures.



+ Perform other duties as assigned.



+ Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:



To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:





+ Ability to print and speak simple sentences.



+ Ability to write simple correspondence.



+ Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.



+ Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.



+ Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.



+ Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.



+ Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.



+ Ability to continuously demonstrate a positive and engaging personality with guests, to get them to play.



+ Ability to continuously exemplify Universal Orlando’s “service plus” characteristics, always providing additional friendly aggressive interaction with guests to effectively “sell” fun through games activities.









EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent, Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school, One to three years’ experience in advance garment construction, machine stitching, and alterations preferred.



EXPERIENCE: 0-1 Year: Employed by UO for a minimum of 90 days required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge and experience working on industrial sewing machine, walking foot machines, sergers, and pressing equipment, demonstrated ability in pattern making and draping required.; or equivalent combination of education and experience.



ON-THE-JOB TRAINING: Completion of Lead Foundations course and demonstration of proficiency in division-specific Lead accountabilities as defined by the Post Training Technical Assessment.







PHYSICAL DEMANDS:



While performing the duties of this job, the individual is required to:





+ Regularly (2/3 of the time or more) sitting for prolonged periods, use of hands and fingers to grip, pinch, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, repeating motions more than twice per minute, close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), color vision (ability to identify and distinguish color), ability to maintain alertness and attentiveness up to 4 hours while working varying hours, ability to maintain concentration/focus (e.g. ability to interpret the work environment and make decision on predetermined operation policies and procedures).



+ Frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time) talking, reach, pull push with hands and arms above head, lifting up to 20 pounds, ability to work in small or tight spaces.



+ Occasionally (1/3 of the time or less) standing for prolonged periods of time, walking for prolonged periods, hearing audible alarms, voice commands, & background noises. Stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, pulling, and pushing with hands and arms below head. Ability to work in an environment subject to vibrations, repetition using a keyboard or mouse, pushing up to 20 pounds with control, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus while changing lights, ability to work in varied lights.









WORK ENVIRONMENT:



While performing the duties of this job, the individual is required to:





+ Will include exposure to bodily fluids (blood, vomit)



+ Noise Level-Loud Noise (Noise when raised conversation is needed)
