**Role Summary:**

Working within the Focus organizational structure, the role is to source and assist in the day-to-day management of feature film projects in acquisitions and co-productions. Reporting to the SVP, Acquisitions & Co-Productions and working with colleagues in both Los Angeles and London

**Essential Responsibilities:**

+ Support senior management in the day to day sourcing and management of the company’s slate of feature films. For example, track and secure projects and build and maintain relationships with producers, agents, talent and other studio executives both internally and externally, with an emphasis on early identification of package acquisitions.

+ In a complementary manner to the Directors of Acquisitions & Co-Productions in Los Angeles and London, attend and cover film festivals and markets with an eye toward building early relationships with talent, evaluating pre-buys, footage and finished films and collaborating on territory acquisitions.

+ Usually with a senior executive and as appropriate to their skill level and the needs of the project, serve as the production exec for acquisitions & co-productions sourced by or assigned to the executive. Duties include: Talent lists, dailies reports, production updates, liaising with internal and external physical production and producers and senior management, set visits when necessary, post production notes and facilitating all project-related internal and external communication therein. In the absence of a senior executive, be able to represent the studio’s interests appropriately.

+ Assist in evaluating a film’s potential for greenlight, including investigating how the film would fit into overall slate strategy and evolving needs, gaining and communicating an understanding of the filmmaker’s vision, preparing information on comparable titles, running financial models with the assistance of the strategy team.

+ Work with other executives on special projects and internal tracking lists, bringing a talent for identifying unique filmmaking voices and materials from a variety of sources, including other business functions within NBCUniversal, to bear for Focus.


Basic Qualifications:

+ Appetite and ability to read and watch a large volume of creative content in order to source material, become acquainted with talent and competitive activity. Fluent knowledge of story structure a must.

+ A proven track record in the film industry. Experience of working with a major film studio on productions and/or acquisitions would be beneficial.

+ Strong established working relationships across the industry with agents, sales agents and talent including screenwriters, producers and directors. Knowledge and interest in the film industry and keeping abreast of evolutions and changes in media a plus.

+ In addition to a strong creative vocabulary, demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with an inclusive and collaborative style to successfully work with various functions and teams.

+ Ability to work towards an agreed goal, taking ownership from start to finish.

+ Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced and changing environment.

+ Demonstrates flexibility coupled with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines within a matrix organization.
