**Responsibilities**

Description



The Technical Manager role is responsible for the architecture, delivery and maintenance of software applications which support the Content Distribution function of NBCUniversal. This position, reporting to the Director of Content Distribution Technology, will oversee a team of onshore and offshore technical resources in new software development and management of existing applications. The current areas of solution focus are .NET, BI/Tableau and Salesforce. This role stays current on leading edge technologies and helps drive innovation within the department.



Primary Responsibilities



+ Oversee technical staff in the development and maintenance of software applications in the areas of .Net, Salesforce and BI/Tableau and other leading technologies which may be required to support the Content Distribution department.

+ Provide technical leadership in terms of architecting solutions, mentoring developers, making smart technology decisions and all SDLC activities in a highly agile environment.

+ Identify, research and introduce opportunities to adopt innovative technologies

+ Partner with Director to drive continuous system improvement, technical support and provide regular updates to Director on operational issues, service levels, and project status

+ Ensure the integrity of our technical platforms, including custom developed and vendor installed applications as well as all processes required to maintain such platforms

+ Meet with business and engagement leads to refine and evaluate requirements, strategy and content needs

+ Oversee each project’s life cycle from conception to completion, with an emphasis on technical soundness and resource efficiency

+ Maintain strong and effective working relationships with Platform Tech Leads, Technical Operations, and Risk Management teams

+ Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees/consultants

**Qualifications/Requirements**

Required Qualifications



+ Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent

+ Minimum 10 years’ experience in technology industry, with 5+ years’ experience in a supervisory capacity

+ Amazing technical instincts. You know how to evaluate and choose the right technology and approach for the job

+ Experience developing or managing custom solution development in Salesforce

+ A deep understanding of the Salesforce.com product suite including Salesforce 1, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Platform and the App Exchange

+ Strong background in Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse technologies including Teradata, Tableau, informatica, Hadoop.Redshift

+ Excellent communication skills: must be able to interface with both technical and business users in the organization

+ Strong attention to detail, problem solving abilities, intellectual curiosity, and a desire to continually learn and improve
