NBC Universal’s Global Media Operations team provides digital workflow tools and services to organizations throughout NBCUniversal including NBC Network, NBC News, NBC Sports, USA Network, SyFy, Bravo, Oxygen, Telemundo, and local TV stations. The wide range of services provided by Global Media Operations (GMO) team include centralized conditioning and delivery of critical NBCU film and television assets and distribution of on-demand content and live streaming events to the web, mobile, and OTT devices. The GMO team is responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting the tools for digital media playback, delivery, syndication, and processing; assisting with support of existing proprietary products, third party applications, media server infrastructure; and researching new tools and standards for our business. As a part of the GMO team, you will drive TVEverywhere product roadmaps, enhance existing workflows, identify process improvements, provide strategic recommendations, and lead cross functional technical and operations teams to design, build, and launch new products and execute on new initiatives to deliver content across multiple consumer experiences and devices.

+ Manage a team of Digital Video Product Managers that is responsible for building the video players / SDKS for NBCUniversal’s TV Everywhere VOD and 24/7 live streaming experiences spanning 27 cable properties and 200+ NBC Affiliates across mobile, desktop, and OTT devices

+ Serve as an expert on the functionality, architecture, and implantation of each product within the team’s portfolio

+ Develop and lead overall roadmap and architectural direction of the Cloudpath Player and SDK including, but not limited to, identifying new forward thinking functionality to meeting new business needs or provide new business/integration opportunities

+ Ensure individual product roadmaps and product integration strategy balance internal requirements with client requests/priorities

+ Establish and drive implementation of cross platform strategies to ensure feature parity across the product portfolio and continued development of highly scalable products (a single product delivery can meet the needs of multiple clients)

+ Ensure each Product team reliably delivers on time, in scope, and on budget each sprint

+ Engage with multiple clients/business units/internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into product features and capabilities for internal development teams and 3rd party developers

+ Provide consistent communication back to clients and stake holders on development progress and product delivery timelines as well as conduct feature roadmap overviews periodically

+ Collaborate with player architects to identify best technical solution to meet client needs

+ Serve as escalation point for clients on any Product development items or concerns

+ Recruit, train, mentor and grow the Product Team to create a strong, high functioning, empowered, and self reliant team of Product leaders

+ Establish and monitor performance and development goals at the team and individual level

+ Maintain and enforce the Product Manager training matrix to ensure each team member is appropriately trained and certified on the necessary skills

+ Be an industry expert with respect to trends in digital video application development, operating system upgrades, and the competition


+ Bachelor’s degree in Software Development, Product Management, Broadcast Technologies, Engineering or equivalent experience required

+ Minimum 3-5 years of relevant work experience in the technology or media industry

+ Minimum 3 year experience in a role demonstrating strong technical, quantitative, and analytical skills

+ Minimum 3 years experience in a role exhibiting excellent written and oral communications, effective interpersonal skills, project management, and strong formal presentation abilities

+ Expertise in the SDLC process, with a focus on scoping, iteration planning, user story and acceptance criteria writing, rollout management

**Desired Characteristics**

+ 3-5 years product management experience in digital media, gathering client requirements, writing product and/or technical specifications, working with development teams, and managing product roadmaps as well as launches

+ At least 3 years of direct client engagement experience

+ 1-2 years experience with Cloudpath Mobile and OTT SDK and Services products

+ Experience managing a team

+ Experience in Television/Broadcast, Media, Technology, or related field

+ Experience with interactive media, mobile design & app development

+ Experience with Agile methodology

+ Experience with using Jira or a similar system to track and maintain feature requirements and development progress

+ Natural problem solver, who is adaptable in a fast paced environment and is highly collaborative
