**Responsibilities**

The Manager, Publicity is responsible for devising, implementing and delivering innovative and high impact publicity efforts for Universal Studios Hollywood (USH) and Universal CityWalk (CW) within the Digital media space. This position reports directly to the VP Public Relations.



•Develop, plan and implement inspired publicity efforts based on initiatives to promote USH as a destination in key media segments within digital editorial space, including traditional, non-traditional, bloggers and influencers.

•Proactively pitch press with creative story angles that drive increased consumer editorial coverage.

•Develop and sustain excellent media relations with targeted journalists.

•Research, develop, and present innovative PR plans and compelling story ideas for USH/CW to influence domestic visitation.

•Pitch and secure placement for the destination in targeted online outlets.

•Develop PR opportunities to drive increased awareness of the company initiatives, seasonal and special events.

•Collaborate with Social Media and marketing teams to develop and execute campaign strategy

•Compose compelling press releases and presentations.

•Collaborate with PR team to oversee celebrity visits and leverage accordingly within the editorial digital space.

•Manage relevant program budgets, ensuring programs are conducted within budget guidelines, noting and reporting monthly variances.

•Perform other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications/Requirements**

•Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university is required; majors in Journalism, Public Relations or Mass Communications preferred.

•Minimum of 5 years of relevant PR experience.

•Must be able to be flexible and available to work evenings and weekends.

**Desired Characteristics**

•The ideal candidate will possess a substantive background in destination/entertainment publicity with a critical understanding and experience in managing digital public relations efforts and social media strategy.

•Will possess existing relationships with media, including both traditional and non-traditional outlets, including niche blogs and influencers.

•Must understand digital and new media platforms and how to translate knowledge into creating campaigns for all initiatives.

•Outstanding technical and creative writing skills.

•Strong communication skills with ability to write and convey marketing plans/efforts to executives.

•Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport in a flexible, fast paced team environment.

•Strong professional demeanor, able to represent the corporate entity in dynamic and unforeseen scenarios.

•Attention to detail with strong organizational skills; ability to juggle many tasks, and change gears quickly.

•Adept at developing innovative publicity strategies within corporate brand positioning.

•High degree of individual accountability to commitments and deadlines.

•Able to toggle effectively between working independently and collaboratively, in a transparent fashion.

•Highly self-motivated and entrepreneurial.

•A good sense for newsworthy content.

•Thrives in fast-paced environment.

•Exhibits a positive can-do, roll up the sleeves and get things done attitude.

•Language skills a plus.
