**Responsibilities**

**Description**

NBC Universal has an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to become the Manager of Maintenance in the Production Engineering group, reporting to the Director of Production Engineering Support. This position will manage the day-to-day operation of a diverse 24/7 user-facing support team of 20+ engineers servicing Studios, Control Rooms and core infrastructure for all live and taped productions at 30 Rockefeller Plaza – including NBC News and MSNBC, Entertainment, Sports and Special Events.

**Responsibilities**



+ General team management - Develop and maintain staffing schedules. Provide regular feedback to employees and management on performance and goals, including regular formalized written performance reviews and performance improvement plans. Work with employees to develop their skillsets and their careers. Balance daily team responsibilities between on-call support, projects, preventative maintenance and training. Develop a strong team with a healthy mix of individual subject matter expertise and generalized knowledge.

+ On-call support management – Schedule 24/7 on-call support serving production operations users at 30 Rock. Develop support standards, escalation procedures, systems and practices for issue tracking, reporting and resolution.

+ Projects and preventative maintenance management – Assign employees to both individually-led small project work and support of larger engineering projects. Develop regular maintenance procedures and schedules, including preventative tasks and system upgrades.

+ Client management – Work directly with production operations clients and management to both formally and informally report on issues root cause, short and long term resolution and prevention. **Supported Production Environment** Key systems supported by our group include the following.

+ 8 full-size production Studios and several smaller insertion studios:

+ Sony Professional HD cameras and BRC-series cameras on pedestal, jib and handheld/steadicam

+ Teleprompters

+ Vinten, Ross and Telemetrics camera robotics

+ Wireless audio and comms for talent and technical operations

+ Monitoring for set elements and off-camera (vanity) - LED, LCD/Plasma, front and rear projection

+ “Front of House” audio and public address systems, including Studer and SSL mixing boards

+ Extensive BSP connectivity infrastructure, including SMPTE camera fiber, audio/video and networking

+ 8 full-size production Control Rooms and several smaller mini controls:

+ Sony 8000-series production switchers

+ Ross Overdrive automated production control

+ GV Kaleido-series and Evertz MVP/VIP multiviewers

+ RTS/Bosch KP-series intercom panels and ADAM backend

+ Calrec and Lawo mixing boards for production audio and live music, extensive Calrec Hydra networking

+ GV Trinix and NVision video routers with Encore and NVision control systems

+ LSB Virtual Studio Manager and DNF “Flex Control” series production control and orchestration systems

+ GV/Miranda Densite-series modular processing and distribution systems with iControl management

**Qualifications/Requirements**

+ 5+ years of recent experience with a broadcaster or broadcast industry technology manufacturer.

+ Must be willing to work evenings, overnights, weekends , holidays with little or/no notice
