The Manager, Scheduling leads a team that provides day-to-day scheduling support for multiple control rooms, studios, resources, personnel for NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises.

• Manage the coordination and booking of all resources including, control rooms, studios, edit bays, and other technical resources.

• Partner with production, operations, and technical teams to schedule staff and facilitate coverage of a 24-hour, 7-day a week environment.

• Implement creative approaches to scheduling staff and facilities to optimize workforce management efficiency guidelines.

• Work closely with software vendor to appropriate design and maintain scheduling software system.

• Creates, review, and manage all technical facilities/manpower through a scheduling system.

• Work collaboratively with team to share administrative responsibilities using internal scheduling & timekeeping systems.

• Demonstrate understanding of workplace policies, business practices, and operations and apply to scheduling procedures.

• Demonstrate understanding of scheduling options and pay practices; obtain pre-approval with appropriate department heads prior to implementing/exercising such options.

• Create payroll report spread sheets, analyze staff hour usage to properly forecast staff needs

• Attends manager/staff meetings and communicates scheduling and training needs to the rest of the scheduling team.

• Through partnership with managers, build out skills tracker and competency models.

• Manages production requests and schedules against them.

• Schedules employees (based on skills tracker and competency model).

• Work with management in order to appropriately schedule all training.

• Works with employees to determine availability.

• Schedules PTO (entering/reviewing time off in scheduling system, managing vacation profile communications, updating Time off Accrual, etc.)

• Reviews schedule for potential conflicts and/or personnel shortage due to PTO requests.

• Partners with managers to resolve urgent needs and to balance labor needs with costs.

• Other duties and projects as assigned.


• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum 3 years of experience in scheduling functions, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Demonstrated knowledge of crew functions and skills, and using this knowledge to optimize schedules.

• Demonstrated understanding of applying workplace policies, business practices, and operations to scheduling procedures.

• Demonstrated understanding of technology tools utilized to create and finalize schedule(s).

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be available for all shifts, including nights, early morning, weekends, holidays, and hurricane emergencies.

• Must be willing to work additional hours beyond scheduled shift with little or no notice

• Must be willing to be assigned an “on-call” schedule to cover breaking news and other last minute studio production and programming needs

• Must be willing to work in Miami, FL area.

• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.

• Must be 18 years or older.

• Bilingual: fluent in English and Spanish.

• Must be willing to travel on short notice as necessary.
