Job Purpose:

NBC Universal Domestic TV Distribution is seeking an experienced online editor/digital producer to serve as Managing Editor to help steer entertainment news coverage at The role will work closely with the on-air Producers to help supervise a team of editors and writers/video producers on the digital news team, setting daily coverage priorities and planning longer-term enterprise goals for the site.

The best candidate will be able to both zero in on the smallest details of any given news story, reworking copy or writing snappy headlines, but also be able to zoom out to plot broader strategy for the current site and for Access Hollywood’s future.

The candidate should have a strong entertainment news background, a finger on the pulse of pop culture, and a good sense of the trending topics that will resonate with our audience and burnish the brand. The Managing Editor will serve as a liaison between the digital and TV broadcast teams, harnessing Access Hollywood’s news-gathering resources to deliver smart, entertainment news with a sense of immediacy.

Priorities will include working with on-air and the Social Media Producers to deliver a continuous stream of short-form video content. He or she should have a firm grasp of SEO and social-media best practices. He or she will report to and work with the Vice President of Digital Strategy, Domestic TV Distribution to help to continually hone Access Hollywood’s social-media strategy and shepherd the team's distribution and audience-development efforts. He / she will work with the editorial team in helping to decide home-page display while also making sure’s content best reaches our expanding audience on social channels in a timely manner.


+ Support the VP of Digital Strategy in running the site with his/her editorial team

+ Provide daily editorial assignments, managerial support, editorial leadership, schedules, spot duty filling in for web editors.

+ Ensure fulfills its roles of maximizing the show’s strength in short form, and brings Access Hollywood’s reporting to digital audiences on multiple platforms.

+ Monitor traffic, qualitative and engagement trends for digital and mobile platforms and share with leadership team.

+ Set and monitor traffic and engagement goals for editorial team.

+ Strong focus on the distribution of social content



+ A minimum of 5 years experience of journalism in a broadcast TV, Cable TV and/or Web-Internet management or operational role.Additional Job Requirements
