**Qualifications/Requirements**

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:



+ Minimum 5 years of experience in newsgathering, news production and/or news operations

+ Minimum 5 years management and leadership experience of functions and personnel

+ Bachelor’s Degree in journalism or related broadcast fieldADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

+ Able to work longer weekly hours as well as weekends when necessary with short notice

+ Must be willing to work in Chicago, IL

+ Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.

+ Exceptional editorial, storytelling, and copy editing skills

+ Ability to recognize and meet the varying demands of each content platform and their deadlines

+ Firm understanding of digital media and support technologies

+ Ability to effectively motivate and coach team members

+ Working knowledge of the Chicago market

+ Outstanding interpersonal communications skills (oral and written)

+ Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment to shift priorities quickly among multiple projects and do what is necessary to execute on short notice

+ Understanding of Spanish language

+ Working experience in a television newsroom and within a large media company

+ Adept at social media and its applications for news content and with newsroom environment
