Reporting in to the Head of Marketing ANZ, Networks this role is responsible for planning and executing all marketing activities for SYFY and Universal Channel.


Essential Responsibilities

• Develop marketing plans to drive ratings / channel performance around annual programming highlights.

• Project manage and drive successful marketing activities for the channel/s; develop deep understanding of brand, programming and commercial aspirations to support in success.

• Execute and project manage channel rebrands in partnership with Central office.

• Develop and execute digital and social strategies, including traffic driving initiatives (SEO, CRM, eDM).

• Generate ideas and engage business leaders to drive increased online exposure for channel.

• In partnership with digital resource ensure social media sites are relevant, up-to-date and reflect current marketing activity via a content planning system.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with central marketing team to ensure ANZ is fully supported; ensure centrally delivered marketing collateral is fit for purpose.

• Provide marketing support for ad sales activity including assisting with trade marketing efforts, approving brand representations in the market, providing creative elements and assets for ad sales team.

• Manage campaign budgets; including sourcing competitive quotes, negotiating media buys, and advertising budgets.

• Partner with digital and ad sales personnel to ensure that digital commercial opportunities are maximised for channel.

• Work closely with the Creative Director to ensure brand alignment; act as a brand champion to ensure that brand values are applied to all communications.

• Work to develop event marketing, and partner with PR teams to generate exposure outside standard list coverings.

• Manage agency relationships with media, online, promotional, merchandising and when relevant, research agencies. Develop briefs for, and manage agency implementation of activities where required.

• Ensure that all required legal obligations relevant to marketing activities are met, including permit regulations and copyright restrictions and approvals.

• In partnership with Commercial and Research teams, evaluate marketing campaigns and budget spend to ensure learnings are applied in subsequent campaigns.

• Assist the Managing Director, Commercial Director to deliver to market new business initiatives through highly impactful trade presentations.

• Preparation and delivery of presentations for and to local and global leadership.

• Project lead new business initiates working in close collaboration with Marketing, Tech Ops, Ad Sales, Programming and Creative


• 6+ years appropriate experience

• Work history in the media/broadcast industry be that within a media agency, ad sales house, integrated solutions sales team or client side marketing preferable

• Demonstrate experience in driving creative marketing strategies to support commercial success of brand

• Brand expert with experience unlocking key brand insights and passion points for consumer / channel brands

• Experience managing media buying and negotiating with external agencies/partners

• Strong digital marketing experience including social media marketing for brands, CRM/SEO strategy and implementation

• Experience of working within and maximising budgets

• Experience managing multiple stakeholders; demonstrated success in this area

• Strong industry relationships desired

• Excellent presentation skills - in both creation and presentation

• Strong communication and influencing skills

• Ability to work to deadlines in a dynamic market
