The Media Support Manager position is responsible for providing operational, build, and technical support for the Global Media Operations Group. Global Media Operations is the primary 24/7 operation responsible for fulfilling NBCUniversal’s global digital supply chain. The main objective of this role is to onboard partners and clients from end to end, building transcode and delivery workflows in the proper technical specification for the digital distribution outlet. The second objective is providing operational and customer support for the portfolio of applications and products used for file-based digital workflows including video editing, transcoding, digital file delivery, and live streaming. This person will also work directly with operations to provide strategic recommendations, and lead deployments of identified solutions. This is a role that combines broadcast engineering, information technology, and digital media. An ideal candidate will have a background in Computer Science, Information Systems, or New Media. This person will like to operate in a fast paced environment, enjoy interacting with customers, and is willing to tackle unique challenges head-on.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

+ Building and supporting digital media transcode and delivery workflows.

+ Compiling and maintaining technical specifications for all workflows.

+ Troubleshooting technical issues related to all digital media; transcoding, editing, delivery.

+ Liaising with multiple groups and external clients to investigate and identify root cause of problematic content on both receipt and delivery.

+ Comprehensively track and reconcile technical issues.

+ Managing technical projects in a variety of capacities.

+ Working with operations to resolve internal workflow issues or implement new client requirements and standards.


+ A minimum of 2 years of experience in a digital supply chain, broadcast operation or post-production environment.

+ A minimum of 2 years of experience using non-linear editing systems (specifically Avid, Final Cut Pro, and Premiere)

+ Must have experience with digital media workflows - transcoding and digital file delivery.

+ Must have experience with digital media files and various codecs - Quicktime, MXF, XDCam, DNxHD, ProRes.

+ A minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer-facing role

+ A minimum of 2 years of experience of all Microsoft Office applications (including Outlook, Word, Excel)

+ Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice

+ Must be willing to work in Englewood Cliffs, NJ

+ Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the US

+ Must be 18 years or older

+ Must be willing and able to work on any shift including, overnights, swing, or weekend.

**Desired Characteristics**

+ An individual with a very strong desire to learn, take on new technologies and challenges, & teach others

+ Familiarity with digital media file types - Quicktime, MXF, MPEG, Mp4 etc.

+ Familiarity with digital media workflows - Transcoding and digital file delivery

+ Past experience with content management systems

+ Experience working with live video media and media files including streaming and transcoding technologies

+ Knowledge of various digital delivery methods, ftp, UDP, Signiant and Aspera

+ IT experience in any capacity and an understanding of scripting.

+ Must be willing and able to work on any shift including, overnights, swing, or weekend

+ Ability to learn quickly and find answers via alternative means (blogs, forums, Google)

+ Experience supporting customer workflows through operations team and/or help desk

+ Experiencing working in a team environment

+ Able to multi-task and make effective decisions in a high pressure deadline driven environment

+ Strong communication skills and ability to interface with multiple departments, clients, and vendors
