Job Description

WXII 12, the Hearst Television NBC affiliate in the Greensboro/Winston-Salem/High Point market, has an immediate opening for full-time meteorologist for our top-rated weekend morning news.


  • Produce and anchor Saturday & Sunday morning news weather segments, Today Show cut-ins and other newscasts as assigned
  • Produce clear, concise and accurate forecasts on all platforms, including television, and digital (main TV station web site, Facebook, Twitter, other social media platforms, etc.)
  • Be well versed in local, national and international news  
  • Be able to work under extreme deadline pressure and respond to late changes
  • Be available for unscheduled assignments on mornings, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Participate in editorial meetings and contribute fresh ideas for newscasts, sweeps and special projects
  • Represent WXII at public events

Required Skills

  • Prior small or medium market weather anchoring.
  • Additional reporting experience a plus.
  • College degree and AMS seal preferred
