MSNBC.com is looking for a Digital Producer who will both manage MSNBC’s homepage curation and produce video content for a variety of digital platforms.

Job Duties

+ Manage editorial curation of MSNBC.com homepage

+ Program content distribution for MSNBC brand social media accounts

+ Write sharp headlines for the homepage and social platforms

+ Create platform specific video content featuring MSNBC talent, themes, and segments

+ YouTube, AppleNews, Facebook, Instagram, etc.

+ Monitor MSNBC programming and work with the video desk/show producers on clip optimization

+ Monitor and edit MSNBC program video content metadata for SEO

+ Analyze and evaluate on and off network video performance against business KPIs

+ Test, experiment, and adapt creative

+ Collaborate with colleagues on the primetime broadcast teams to strategize and execute digital components and promotions for tent pole events, specials, big interviews, and scoops


Basic Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree

+ 5 years of journalism experience, preferably in a newsroom

+ 3 years of web content, video production/editing experience

+ A deep understanding of social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat

+ Proven news judgment, high ethical standards and wonderful interpersonal skills

+ Must be willing and able to work flexible hours depending when demanded by news coverage and other editorial responsibilities

+ Must be able to work under tight deadline pressure

+ Ability to travelAdditional Job Requirements

+ Fluent in social media trends, content, publishing best practices and tools (Social Flow, Spredfast, etc), can edit photo, video, and graphics using AVID and/or Adobe Creative Suite, Familiar with analytics tools including Parse.ly and Omniture.
