**Responsibilities**

Role Purpose As a Denton, Texas based Multimedia Journalist you will work closely with KXAS news management gathering daily content in the Denton area. You will shoot, edit, write, produce, gather and report content on all of KXAS’s platforms, including but not limited to broadcast and digital.

**Qualifications/Requirements**

Basic Qualifications• Bachelor’s Degree

• Minimum 2 years experience in newsgathering and/or production

• Minimum 3 years experience writing, producing and desktop editing

• Previous experience with cellular transmission systems, such as Dejero or TVU

• Manage general upkeep of equipment

• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

• Must be willing to reside in the Denton area

• Must be 18 years or older

• Must be willing to travel and work extended shifts and/or on weekends with short notice

• Must have a valid Texas driver’s license

• Physical requirements required to perform medium/heavy physical work which includes:

~Lifting and carrying camera equipment ranging from 15 lbs. to 50 lbs. (in camera weight) for extended periods of time to shoot on remote locations

• Must have the ability to work any of a 24 x 7 shift

• Must accept Solutions as NBCUniversal’s Alternative Dispute Resolution program

**Desired Characteristics**

• Experience performing and shooting live shots

• Strong desire to deliver news as it develops on all current and future platforms

• A sense of urgency and desire to learn emerging technologies

• Strong journalistic skills

• Significant experience in the news environment

• Ability to write, edit and produce for both on-air and digital under heavy deadline pressure without compromising accuracy or credibility

• Experience editing content on a desktop editing system

• Strong knowledge of social networking to enable content gathering and distribution

• Must be able to find and enterprise news stories

• Ability to make priority decisions under deadline

• Team player mentality
