**Responsibilities**

Responsible for database architecture and development to support all CNBC applications, including but not limited to cnbc.com, market data, video, user profile, preferences, and others. Manage SQL systems, including replicated databases and partitions in a dynamic environment. Perform database administration and maintenance with zero downtime. Support production and all non-production database instances of CNBC applications. Create and implement fully functional MySQL Server databases with an ability to maintain multiple development, Quality Assurance, and production of MySQL environments. Work with data integrity, data retention, data analysis, and data input/output processing and improving SQL code performance efficiency. Use performance tuning, capacity planning, and query profiling to design MySQL Server databases. Work with shell scripting, disaster recovery strategies, Backup Strategies with minimal locking mechanism, and Recovery Strategies with no downtime. Work with data migration strategies and provide production support of high volume database applications.

**Qualifications/Requirements**

Master’s degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Computer Science, including courses on database architecture, administration, and/or development or related field, and three (3) years of experience in database architecture, administration, development, support, or related occupation is required. The position requires some experience with all of the following: Data administration involving management of many SQL Systems, including replicated databases and partitions in a highly dynamic enterprise-level environment; MySQL Utilities; creation and implementation of fully functional MySQL Server databases; maintenance of multiple development, Quality Assurance, and production MySQL environments; improving SQL code performance efficiency; disaster recovery strategies; shell scripting; Backup Strategies with zero/minimal locking mechanism; Recovery Strategies with no downtime; MySQL Replication Strategies (Master-Master, Master-Slave); MySQL database functions (design, implementation, performance tuning, capacity planning, query profiling); database administration (Data integrity, Data retention, Data analysis, Data input/output processing, Data migration, Production support of high volume database applications).
