**Responsibilities**

WSNS-TV, Telemundo Chicago, is a Spanish language TV station in one of the top markets in the country. We are looking for a dynamic, dedicated and resourceful News Anchor with excellent writing and reporting skills to present news content on-air for the station’s news broadcasts and special programs.

JOB DUTIES:



+ Primary responsibility is to deliver the newscasts in an unbiased, energetic and professional manner

+ Responsible for gathering news information and preparing on-air News presentations for the station’s Spanish language newscasts.

+ Provides input to the show’s Producer and Executive Producer regarding show content and format.

+ Responsible for writing stories, teases and news briefs.

+ Responsible for the presentation of breaking news during regular live newscasts, as well as during news briefs and cut-ins outside regularly scheduled newscasts.

+ Required to also perform general assignment reporting duties as needed and assigned

+ Consistently contribute News content ideas for air, as well as for all digital platforms including engagement in social media.

**Qualifications/Requirements**

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:



+ Willing and able to work weekends and other shifts as needed and assigned

+ Minimum 3 years of experience as a News Anchor and general reporting in Spanish-language television

+ Must be able to understand, speak, read and write fluently in Spanish language

+ Must also be able to understand, speak, read and write English language

+ Excellent TV News writing skillsADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

+ Must be willing to work in Chicago, IL

+ Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

+ Must be 18 years of age

+ Interested candidates must submit a resume/CV online to be considered

**Desired Characteristics**



+ BA/BS Degree in Journalism or related field is strongly preferred

+ Knowledge of social media and proven engagement in a variety of digital content platforms and ability to multi-task in a dynamic, content-driven and technology-intensive environment

+ Possess excellent journalistic and News judgment

+ Excellent on-camera presence and delivery skills

+ Ability to ad-lib effortlessly on-air in various broadcast situations, particularly during breaking news.

+ Demonstrated passion and dedication to Broadcast Journalism

+ Excellent investigative reporting skills strongly desired

+ Must be able to handle working under the pressure of intense deadlines, including flexible hours and schedules when necessary

+ Must possess the ability to work well and effectively with others in a team environment within the newsroom as well as out in the field

+ Must have ability to engage and motivate the news team

+ Knowledge of local and national News, politics, and current events
