**Responsibilities**

Produce and write segments for the Breaking News Team. Hours 4p to 12a. Also support “The Rachel Maddow Show”.



Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Write banners

• Update news ticker

• Assist in line producing live show before show and in control room during show

• Fact check assigned segments

• Produce and write assigned segments

• Pre-interview guests and NBC correspondents and prepare questions for anchor

• Responsible for all elements for guest

• Work on rundown updates, assist EP in live rundown changes

• Approve video and graphic elements for assigned segments and for entire show during live broadcast

• Determine video and sound for assigned segments

• Be in control room during airing of assigned segment

• Take part in editorial planning

• Pitch story ideas

• Advise line producers of tease ideas

• Manage on air graphics, work with graphics production assistants to create show graphics

• Keep track of obits

• Produce special coverage during breaking news

**Qualifications/Requirements**

Basic Qualifications:

• Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in live television (i.e. morning shows, cable shows, broadcast TV, etc)

• Ability to enterprise, research, and plan stories

• Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news. Must be able to work additional hours beyond scheduled shift with little or no notice, if needed
