KOKI, is searching for our next SPECIAL PROJECTS PRODUCER. Our newsroom embraces a year round promotional strategy, and we are looking for a leader who can coordinate this. The right candidate will be responsible for a variety of duties. Some days, you’ll be tracking down, and shooting high-profile promotable stories. Other days, you could be asked to produce a newscast, or even a news special.

Our Special Projects Producer will be a self-starter. As a newsroom, we believe in big, showcased coverage.  Someone who embraces our digital first philosophy:  You’ll work with newscast producers, reporters, and anchors to help bring your ideas to life in a newscast and on all digital platforms.


•Works with News Managers and creative services department, to create, maintain and execute a year-round promotable calendar, with specialized coverage opportunities across all dayparts.

•Works with Anchors and Reporters to develop and focus promotable story pitches, exclusive web angles and social engagements for stories.

•The position requires flexibility where some days, you’ll be tracking down, and shooting high-profile promotable stories. Other days, you could be asked to produce a newscast.

•Supports Anchors and Reporters by helping shoot, and write, stories slated for specials projects and our promotable calendar.  Coordinates staffing and technology for specialized shoots, including use of second and third cameras, and still pictures for web photo galleries.

•Field produces extended special event coverage, including severe weather, disaster and court stories, involving multiple crews and interest from multiple stations. 

•Produces newscasts and specialized programming, including shows airing during holidays. These will include Weather, Sports and News specials. The ability to produce occasional news special or live community event for prime time.

•Plans and Organizes News sponsored station events, like parades, walks, runs, and children’s events.

•Coordinates with News managers to order specialized graphics packages for promotable stories and newsroom projects.



•3+ Years Television producing and news writing experience.  
•A demonstrated commitment to advanced storytelling, including multi-shoot franchise (investigative, consumer, community) reporting.
•Experience line producing live newscasts, including writing, editing and boothing shows
•Working knowledge of web and social platforms
•Ability to work flexible hours
•Ability to travel regionally and nationally.
