**Responsibilities**

Job Purpose: As a Production Assistant, you will work directly with Producers, Senior Producers, and Executive Producer to assist in production of live news.



Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Create on-air graphics as directed by producers

• Work closely with producers to research, select, and locate required footage for broadcast

• Prepare briefing notes, one sheets, and scripts

• Print scripts for anchors and ensure host is prepared for live broadcast, act as liaison between studio and control room during live broadcast

• Assist in compiling research for anchors, maintaining on air updates during live program

**Qualifications/Requirements**

Basic Qualifications:

• At least one year of news production experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Political Science, History or related field

• Demonstrated knowledge of interest in current events, politics, and public affairs



Additional Job Requirements:

• Must be willing to submit to a background investigation

• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in United States

• Must be willing to work overtime, nights, holidays, and weekends, often with short notice

• Excellent Organizational Skills

• Able to work under deadline pressure and handle multiple projects at once

• Knowledge of Avid/Interplay, iNews and research databases including LexisNexis, ProQuest, and EBSCO preferred
