The Director of Production & Development will report directly to and work with the SVPs of Programming. This position will primarily help in developing & supervising original unscripted content for NBC Universal LatAm channels. Keeping in sight the quality standards that represent the channels.



• Development Area:

o Field pitches, identify trends, and help establish the strategic development goals for the unscripted content department

o Identify and secure new talent for projects in development

o Determine key vendors to accommodate creative vision and relationships, tax incentives, budget needs, location issues

o Help maintain/curate preferred vendor list

• Pre-Production / Setup of Show / Budgeting:

o Work with Finance, Legal, Creative, Programming Management & external production teams on establishing key production schedules and workflows and maximizing budget

o Work with Production Management to prepare and vet show budgets and schedules, providing feedback internally and externally on viability and risks

o Assist with search and hire of key production company & staff

• Production:

o Help ensure that productions run smoothly, meet deadlines and stay within budget

o Right Bible content reviewing of the managed shows

o Provide notes on outlines, scripts, cuts and pilot/trailers

o Attend shoots, and work with the Executive Producers, show runners, line producers and the directors of finance/ production to guaranty the correct execution in quality, time and budget

o Build and maintain relationships with production and/or co-production partners

o Set up and schedule legal clearance reviews with Legal Department &

Legal Production

o Delivery monitoring of programs for air

• Content Management:

o Set up and attend key creative approval sessions

o Set up and schedule legal clearance reviews with Legal Department

o Set up and schedule with Ad sales team to presenting and support, product integration or any sales initiative related to any show we are in production

• Internal/team working:

o Serve as liaison between production and other departments including Publicity, Marketing, Programming, On Air, Ad Sales, Digital, etc.

Qualification & Requirements:

• Qualifications:

o 10+ years of production experience in television Development & production, factual/unscripted content

o 5+ years of content experience in LATAM

o Bilingual (Spanish/English)

• Requirements:

o Ready to travel at all times to different locations/countries as needed

o Interested Candidates must submit a resume through to be considered

o Exhibit flexibility, excellent communication skills and relationship building ability

o Assertive, enthusiastic and highly motivated self-starter

o Polished with good interpersonal skills and strong writing

o Extensive knowledge of all facets of development & production

o Launching or growing and managing broadcast operations in highly competitive national media markets

o Proactive with demonstrated ability to take initiative and lead a project forward

o Have exceptional communication and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in varying stages simultaneously

• Desired Characteristics:

o Proficiency in Avid, Final Cut Pro, Premiere, Microsoft Word, Excel, PPT, Keynotes, Movie Magic Budgeting

o Familiar with the current trends and workflows for both HD, HDR and 4K, single cam and multi-cam event.
