**Responsibilities**



+ Ensure that appropriate resources (people, tools, services) and processes are in place to gather and analyze data relating to digital technology asset life cycles and related processes.

+ Assist the leadership in developing effective ITAM strategies, policy, approaches and practices across the full range of digital technology assets used within the organization.

+ Identify and report on breaches of ITAM policy, and track remedial action.

+ Report on (or develop reporting on) remediation of digital technology asset-related risks and progress of optimization activity.

+ Ensure accurate and timely reporting, and that data completeness and quality issues are quickly identified and escalated to the responsible data or process owners.

+ Gather data on and provide analysis of all activities that have an impact on the value, cost and risk of digital technology asset life cycles.

+ Provide finance with the data to support the analysis of digital technology asset project and maintenance budgets and business cases.

+ Assign responsibilities for sub-disciplines such as software asset management (SAM), hardware asset management (HAM) and IT asset disposition (ITAD).

+ Ensure that ITAM-related tools and services are properly evaluated, selected, implemented, configured and maintained, with appropriate integration with other sources of organizational data.

+ Supervise the organization's response to software vendor license compliance audits or license validation requests, in consultation with the relevant vendor and procurement.

+ Work with best in class partners to implement a comprehensive ITAM program across the client globally.

+ Collect software license proof-of-entitlement data globally (software license agreements and purchase details), determine specific software entitlements, and document accordingly in the ServiceNow central repository.

+ Proactively maintain compliance position for key publishers and titles which includes performing periodic self-audits, engaging and managing outside expertise where required, and providing recommendations for resolution of non-compliant situations.

+ Maintain integrity of all software-related data in the ServiceNow central asset repository.

+ Support defense of the client in the event of a software compliance audit initiated by a software publisher or their proxy.

+ Perform reconciliation between asset records in the ServiceNow central repository with other relevant data sources; investigate and resolve exceptions and data accuracy issues and anomalies.

+ Establish processes governing the software lifecycle and collaborate with staff in other areas to effect the adoption of asset lifecycle processes globally.

+ Coordinate with software asset management (SAM), hardware asset management (HAM) and ensure acquisition processes (including those of external service providers) are conducted in line with applicable standards and company guidelines.

+ Train and mentor other software asset management (SAM), hardware asset management (HAM) and IT asset disposition (ITAD) Managers on all ITAM topics.

+ Create and distribute new management reports as needed by the organization.

+ Maintain ITAM solution documentation.

+ Monitor system interfaces and scheduled imports, reports, and exports; resolve errors and exceptions.

+ Contribute as the software asset management (SAM), hardware asset management (HAM) and IT asset disposition (ITAD) subject matter expert to utilize/exploit the data to advance the goals of the business. Analyze asset data and make recommendations on how to use the assets to optimize financial investment, reduce business risk, and increase operational effectiveness.

+ Maintain competence in ITAM industry practices and technologies, compare against the organization, and make recommendations and changes accordingly as part of a cycle of continuous improvement.

**Qualifications/Requirements**

Job Responsibilities

The Program Leader, IT Asset Management is responsible for optimizing the life cycle management of IT costs, risk and value through asset selection, operation, refresh, migration, optimization, retirement and disposal. The IT Asset Manager is responsible for the governance of and reporting on this life cycle.

IT Asset Management (ITAM) provides an accurate account of technology asset life cycle costs and risks to maximize the business value of technology strategy, architecture, funding, contractual and sourcing decisions. IT asset management is the central point for data analysis to support the effective management of technology assets whether owned and managed by IT, third-party service providers or business units outside IT.



Qualifications



+ Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience is required; major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field preferred

+ Tertiary qualifications in financial accounting, project management, data analysis, or a legal or paralegal qualification that includes contract, copyright or intellectual property law are preferred

+ Minimum 7 years of related work experience in project management or equivalent combination of education and experience

+ Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment

+ Ability to manage a high volume of details with excellent accuracy

+ Effectively handle sensitive and confidential matters

+ Strong oral and written communication skills, with excellent presentation and facilitation skills

+ Conflict resolution and problem solving techniques

+ Prior experience working with procurement, business stakeholders and frontline operational IT staff

+ Prior ITAM roles (hardware or software) or demonstrable experience of working with IT asset management professionals to deliver ITAM capability and improved business outcomes

+ 3 years of experience with IT, enterprise asset management or information management

+ 3 years of demonstrated leadership experience building cross-organizational consensus with exposure to technology providers and/or business clients

+ 3 years of demonstrated experience in liaising with middle and senior management

+ Experience with building business requirements for digital technology tools and services, developing business cases and selecting solutions using RFP documentation and processes

+ Experience leading system or tool implementations with responsibility for verifying capabilities, outputs, dependencies and implementation scope

+ 5 years of experience in managing external IT service providers handling digital technology assets

+ 3 years of experience in managing the risk and cost implications of IT contracts or contract negotiations

+ 3 years of hands-on information gathering, analysis and management reporting

+ Membership of professional organizations, trade or user groups, and a pattern of regular attendance at industry conferences to enhance knowledge of current technology
