**Responsibilities**

• Work closely with VP, PR to manage internal/external communications and press efforts for Business News as well as public televisions’ “Nightly Business Report” produced by CNBC

• Conceptualize, craft and pitch stories to national and local media to generate maximum, positive publicity for CNBC’s Business News programs, long form documentaries and talent

• Work closely with the newsroom to identify and disseminate breaking news and big interviews

• Partner with internal teams including editorial, marketing, research, sales, digital and social media to identify publicity opportunities

• Help create and execute strategic PR plans for CNBC’s award-winning long form documentaries including research, building media lists and pitching and coordinating interviews for talent and producers

• Manage relationship with Newschannel to maximize coverage of CNBC Business News stories/reports on NBC affiliate stations across the country. Identify and pitch stories daily

• Assist and execute special events including conferences and big news events

• Work with the CNBC production team, presenting station WETA and American Public Television to promote “Nightly Business Report” and maintain positive relationships with the public television stations across the country

• Generate press materials including news releases, bios, media alerts, programming announcements, pitch letters and talking points

• Cultivate positive relationships with talent, producers and newsdesk

• Create, manage and update targeted and specialty media lists

• Coordinate and supervise various media requests to support Business News including interviews, on-set visits and photo shoots

• Manage the awards entry process for Business News

• Manage and plan events for talent including book and anniversary parties

• Coordinate and pitch radio interviews for talent

• Manage updates to CNBC.com and CNBC’s Media Village page

• Build and maintain positive relationships with business, consumer and trade press

• Support the daily operations of the Business News team

• Manage internal photo system and work with CNBC photo desk as well as NBCU photography to schedule photo shoots for Business News programs, talent and events

• Work closely with graphics to create assets needed to promote Business News programs and long form documentaries

• Manage specialty project requests from NBCU Corporate Communications and Diversity teams

• Oversee program highlights

• Monitor competitive environment via daily review of competitive/industry news

**Qualifications/Requirements**

• Bachelor’s Degree

• Minimum 3 years of Public Relations experience

• Experience in television or print media industries preferred

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills – written and verbal

• Ability to work independently and with a team

• Ability to maximize opportunities and thrive in a fast-paced, detailed-oriented environment

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines

• Energetic, creative and assist in idea generation

• Willingness to travel and work overtime and weekends with short notice (if applicable)

• Must be willing to work in the Englewood Cliffs NJ Location
