Job Purpose

The Researcher will support the NBC Entertainment.

Essential Responsibilities

+ Compile facts and info for upcoming guest segments

+ Utilize print and online media to gather information for files

+ Work closely with segment producers to prepare background information for show

+ Supervise research generated by support staff

+ Maintain and update both print and video archives of guests

+ Supervise guest database/files

+ Other ad-hoc duties as outlined by Manager


Basic Qualifications:

+ Bachelors degree

+ Minimum 1 year experience working in a television environment

+ Minimum 1 year experience working with a Mac

+ Minimum 1 year experience working with Lexis Nexis and/or related research servicesEligibility Requirements:

+ Must have ability to work flexible hours due to the production schedule of the show.

+ References from previous employers required.

Desired Characteristics:

+ Previous show research experience preferred.

+ Detail oriented, with strong organizational skills

+ Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, television environment

+ Strong interpersonal skills and ability to positively interact with co-workers and producers

+ Knowledge and interest in pop-culture and topical issues a must
