The Sales Assistant has the primarily responsibility of providing administrative support in a professional, efficient and confidential manner to the Sales Managers at WSB-TV. The incumbent will also support initiatives and programs around Sales Executives and customer service. Responsibilities require discretion, judgment, tact, poise, and the ability to prioritize, prepare reports and communications, and research highly confidential materials and issues. The position requires the ability to work independently and collaboratively, solve problems, and set up and operate systems and procedures to manage an office.

The Sales Coordinator will be responsible for working with Sales, Research, Traffic, Studio 2, other departments and customers in a positive and progressive manner.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Playing a major support role within the entire department and station (when required)
  • Daily log reconciliation
  • Order entry
  • Pulling important daily and weekly reports for Sales Management, Local Salespeople, and Research Director
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Proficient in computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Experience with Wide Orbit traffic system preferred.
  • Screen calls, contacts and visitors where possible, immediately dealing with Issues/requests onbehalf of station.
  • Oversee and manage office appearance and orderliness including general office supplyareas, conference rooms and kitchen.
  • Comfortable with occasional last minute errands and lunch runs for executives.
  • Comfortable with occasional flex or extended scheduling and after-hours communication andavailability.
  • Responsible for general filing of documents and correspondence to assure access to information and to maintain order in the office. Maintain confidential files and records using judgment and utmost discretion.
  • Handle internal & external correspondence and communications; create reports andpresentations using appropriate software.
  • Maintain reports and databases. Seek out opportunities to evaluate existing business processesand make improvements when warranted.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned by the Sales Managers.
  • May support project management related to community or station partnerships, initiatives orevents.
  • May attend and represent WSB-TV at external meetings or events.


Candidates must possess strong organizational skills, with proven experience prioritizing work and coordinating several projects at one time and have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic and ever-changing environment. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience is preferred. Candidates must be performing satisfactorily in their current role and pass the required background checks.


Qualified candidates should be professional in demeanor and appearance, have excellent written communication skills, strong oral communication and interpersonal skills, exceptional problem solving, critical thinking and customer service skills. Candidates must have advanced skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and the ability to accurately gather, summarize and compile data into effective reports and presentations.

Excellent Interpersonal skills are required as Incumbent will interact both internally and externally with awide range of staff, customers, corporate employees and executives. Successful candidates should feelequally comfortable with interacting with all employee levels, from frontline employees to seniorexecutives and externally, from viewers to advertisers, to government officials and community leaders.


This position does not require any heavy lifting or extreme physical exertion. Must be able to sit for longperiods of time, and use normal office equipment including telephone, computer, fax & printer, etc. Thedress code is casual professional. There can at times be a high pressure atmosphere with many activities going on simultaneously, deadlines to meet and new priorities that will supersede theincumbent's initial plan. The position may require more than forty hours completing the necessary demands in aweek.
