**Responsibilities**

Produce and write segments for "Meet the Press Daily."



Job Duties



+ Write segments

+ Determine video and sound for assigned segments

+ Communicate daily story development with senior producer

+ Be in control room during airing of live segment

+ When warranted, field produce segments

+ Take part in editorial planning

+ Pitch story ideas

**Qualifications/Requirements**

Basic Qualifications



+ Must have at least 3 years of experience in live television (i.e. morning shows, cable shows, broadcast TV, etc)

+ Thorough knowledge of American politics and strong writing skills a must

+ Possess ability to develop story ideas, research, and plan segments

+ Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that will include some weekends on “Meet the Press”

+ Must be willing to work in Washington DC.

+ Must be 18 years old or older

+ Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.

+ Ability to "book" guests, and work with graphics and video elements

+ Exceptional editorial skills: Ability to recognize stories with high potential for provocative, compelling television

+ Knowledge of current events, politics and pop culture

+ Up to date on periodicals, including Op-Eds

+ Prior experience covering the 2008 and 2012 election cycles
