Join the Morning Joe team as a Segment Producer and contribute daily to pitching, writing and producing exceptional and impactful political discussion. Typical hours are Monday – Friday, 1am – 9am.

Job Duties

+ Write news scripts, teases, and guest segment intros

+ Determine video and sound for assigned segments

+ Communicate daily story development with senior producer

+ Be in control room during airing of live segment

+ Take part in editorial planning

+ Pitch story ideas


Basic Qualifications

+ Must have at least 3 years of experience in live television (i.e. morning shows, cable shows, broadcast TV, etc)

+ Thorough knowledge of American politics, and American history and strong writing skills a must

+ Must have at least 3 years in both tape and desktop editing

+ Must have at least 1 year of Line Producing experience

+ Bachelor’s degree

+ Ability to quickly develop story, ideas, research and plan segmentsAdditional Job Requirements

+ Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news

+ Must be willing to work in NYC

+ Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

+ Must be 18 years or older
